Ganesha: remover of obstacles
I'm still very mad about this whole thing. First of all, it's not like none of the employees thought this might happen. We asked about it fairly often, and each time were assured that while things were not great, we'd know long before our jobs were in any real danger.
I was the member liason. So every weekend I would convince people to spend $30-45 on a yearly membership. Many times I was asked if we were really going to be in business for that long and each time, on the say so of my bosses, told them "of course we would". So now it seems that I've out and out lied to a bunch of prominent Ann Arbor types...I mean we have over 250 members, maybe more than that who are getting totally ripped off by the shutdown. And who do they associate with that? Me. Because i've been taking care of them since the theatre opened. So now I have to go out looking for a job, after having pissed off 200 or so locals. Not to mention how difficult it will be telling people I'm so good at my job the last place I worked folded in under 2 years.
AND they knew (by they I mean upper management outside our store) something was up, because they told us not to sell memberships that last weekend. But they didn't tell employees anything; probably in the fear that we'd steal office supplies or badmouth the theatre to customers. Or maybe that we'd create a rush of members wanting thier monies back for memberships they'd never use...
Ryan is still not home, so I haven't been able to go get shoes. H is printing up a zillion copies of my updated resume so I can start passing them out Friday...not like there will be any jobs in the mall. The kids have already snapped them up. Plus H doesnt' want me to see Harry Potter until i see it with him...Monday. Normally i would not mind, but this weekend everyone is going and I have nothing to do.
Well, that's no quite true. I'm having people over Saturday night for what was supposed to be Kassy's welcome home but I guess will also the the first of several RIP 'Stone parties. Anyone reading this is welcome. Email for address and directions if you need them. And bring a drink or snack to share, I can't be affording fancy parties for awhile.

And now that you mention it, i *do* have a good idea for a story which i may try to make into a short film.

And if it involves zombies, Thorn does a stellar job within a five dollar budget.
