And keep watching the Skeis...skies.
Of course LJ just ate my whole post...how irritating. Let's try again, shall we:
Green sky and severe storms
Dangerous thunderstorms that drop hail and spin up tornadoes seem to be routinely observed as turning green ("going green" in the movie Twister) by the public, and even severe storm researchers.
There's no firm answer why this happens. In fact, there may be a number of different reasons for the green color of storm clouds.
One possibility is that thick thunderstorm clouds, with their water vapor, rain and hail, scatter sunlight in such a way as to give the clouds a blue hue. When the sun is low in the sky, such as before sunset when most severe storms occur, the reddening light of the sun when shining through Earth's atmosphere makes the bluish cloud tint turn green.
Another possibility is that storm clouds act as a kind of canvas upon which low sunlight scattered by particles in the air paints a greenish color. These explanations may play in concert with each other to create the observed green tint.
So I guess this was a bad weekend to agree to walk Ryan's dog Friday-Monday. Yikes, and me sans unbrella!
Also, most of you know that I loathe most of what Disney stands for, and the messages they send. What you may NOT know is that I love Disney witches, which includes most of the female villians (Queen of Hearts, Lady Tremaine and Cruella DeVille are notable exceptions).

On to more delightful news: we are getting HP and the PoA at Madstone! I will be seeing it early, free and often. Plus who knows what kind of posters I'll be able to score on this deal...
I'm also wearing my Shrek ears at work; they are painfully cute.

I kind of hope it stops soon. We are having a flash flood warning, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing to prepare for it. Plus i'm here alone until 9am!
