Pagan Holidays
Well well well, its all chilly and rainy and gross outside for Beltane. So I guess it's just as well that I have to be at big fat stupid work all big fat stupid weekend. I just don't feel like being here, and some crazy old lady wigged out on me because she had some kind of weird ailment that keeps her from understanding what the hell is going on. So it looks like no naked dancing around the fire for me...
Lunch time though, looks like I shall indulge with a chili dog and some fries.
I was over at the Weight Watchers site earlier. They have message boards where people talk about thier dieting issues, which is even more boring than it sounds. But then there are some chicks who go there just to get in people's faces over not having will power or eating stuff before they know the points value. I mean, I'm all for doing a good job dieting and all...but there's no need to be an accusatory bitch about the whole thing. I mean--how is THAT constructive?
I've been looking over the cast and crew for the new version of Salem's Lot. I like the idea of Donald Sutherland as Straker, and Rutger "The Hitcher" Hauer as Barlow. Rob Lowe as Mears and Andre Brauer as someone, I forget who. The director is the main cinematographer for The Abyss...which could prove awesome. Anyway, it comes out in August, and I'm craving it to be good.
Not really having people over tonight. K and N say they can't make it. And I don't see any reason to open my home up to people who just mess it up and contribute little. When we first started getting together, everyone pitched in the snacks and sodas and there was always stuff left over. Now people raid my freezer and drink my personal stash of alcohol, and even bring snack for themselves, but none to share! I find that pretty damn rude, especially since these mooks never invite me over to thier place. Or maybe I'm just sick to death of guests in my home!
We'll have a nice gathering next week, when I hopefully won't have to get up for work Sunday. Working Sundays is such a suck. The Good Adam got a job in Madison, so we will need to be making him some sort of bon voyage. I will, I think, be making him some kind of cool cake once he tells me what he wants.
