the envy of shopkeeps everywhere

Went out shopping for a kite today with my roomates. A whole big bunch of us are going to this kite flying event in Belle Isle on the 25th. It's gonna be radical! But I do not think I've ever flown a kit by myself, if I did I certainly don't remember.

So we go to the hobby shop and I pick out this crappy practice kite that costs like $3. which H buys for me. And the friendly old dude at the counter spends like 20 minutes taelling me how to hook up the kite. Then after asking my permission, he opens the package and strings it up for me, and reinforces the middle part with tape.

Then later he said: "I envy you. when I look back on life and the things I'd love to do again for the first time, Kite flying is one of the best." I found that really touching for some reason. And tomorrow, I and H are going to the park to fly the kite after I get off work.

I also rented the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and for my free rental I got the special edition of Carrie. And the kid at the rental place goes "yeah, THIS is the one you need to get!" And I'm like "oh yeah?" thinking he's going to tell me something cool about the specail edition. Then he says "yeah, the remake SUCKS", like perhaps I needed that explained to me.

I may try out the Oxegyn bar at the mall tomorrow, which I have been most excited to do. We get half off sessions AND supplies as mall employees, which means I could actually afford it.
Plus I wanted to see Flower of Evil at the 'Stone since it looks awesome. All the older ladies are loving it, which is a good sign because the ladies that frequent the french films love sex and intrgiue almost as much as I.

We also tried the new greek delivery place. I had half a gyro which i split with H, and a grilled chicken ceasar salad which I ate all myself and was fab. H got something called chicken fries which are tiny chicken fingers that were very crunchy and good. Plus it turns out I lost wieght this week, over 3 pounds, so that is grand!

Flower of Evil

I saw Flower of Evil tonight. It was good, but not magnificent. Nathalie Baye is so very charming, and Suzanne Flon as Aunt Line is just so very real. They carried the film. The Charpin-Vasseur family is pretty well screwed up, but I could still follow it all, and that meant alot to me as a viewer. I certainly was angry with the behavior of Gerard, the husband. He was kind of a prick, but ya have to have a creep in just about every movie. Over-all I liked it.

there is also an oxygen bar at bellanina, do you know how much they charge at the mall? I like it the first time I tried it, I just felt like that workout high, really clear-eyed and relaxed.

They charge more in the evening than before 3pm. i think its $20 for ten minutes in the evening. But mall employees get half off.
