No Sleep till *musical pause, then base* Sunday!

Wasn't scheduled to work today, but went in anyway to help out with the screening, the benefit movie, and the cinema club class. that went okay except for some woman demanding information from me about cinema club after she missed her first class. Then HHB got all crappy with me in front of a customer about some crap that is totally out of my control...like what managers do with my desk when I'm not around all week! So that was irritating in a mild sort of way. Over 120 idiots came to see Girl Next Door. I have no idea why that would be. I have never really understood the logic of getting movies that appeal to frat boys since that is just not the customer base we are looking for. But maybe that's just me.

Went outside after work and smoked a bat or two. Just then, some churchy lady came up to me and handed me a pamphlet about why Jesus is so important if I want to go to heaven. Apparently according to Baptists, everyone is a filthy sinner unworthy of Heaven and deserving eternal hellfire for our sins. But since god loves us so much, he's going to not make us burn in hell as long as we do everything he says....

Right.

But I was in a mood to chat about it, and before I knew it, over half an hour had gone by.

Then I came home to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] mrcrankypants whom I had not seen since November. We didn't really get a chance to chat...but we did get to watch Dawn of the Dead...the REAL one. It was pretty scary, but in a modern context, there are plenty of inconsitencies. Mind you, I'm certainly not trashing DotD--I love it. But some of the zombies are lumbering and slow, and others are quick and leaping out at you from behind things. And the blood pressure dude...come on!
"Crank" finally got his theremin and amp out of here, so I'm back to a pitch-only model once again. Homer mentioned having a theremin this season on Simps, right before he finds Artie Ziff living in his attic. Pure Hilarity, Pure Homer!

I'm working 4:30 till close on Friday, then 10am till close on Saturday.
So if you're looking for me, I'll once again be at the mall...
...hopefully NOT fending off throngs of undead cannibals.

And did I mention that the new Azkaban trailer is freaking awesome?!?!?
Well, it is:

Randomly interjected question, that's movie related:

Wednes: What do you think about the new Scooby-doo flick? *Haven't caught the first one, but I'm a long standing fan of the old tv series* Or is it another one of those wait until its out on VHS or DVD type of deals?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-03-26 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I havent' seen the Scooby Doo movie, even though I do like Matthew Lillard.

My impression was that SD is a family film, with all the underground drug jokes removed. That means it has little or no appeal to me personally.
