Today I'd like to bring up another of my many faults. This is one that affects me and my interpersonal relationships, the way I feel about people and hence, the way I treat them. I can't help but treat people in accordance with my feelings toward them...good or otherwise; but that's not the fault I'm talking about here.

I have this way of looking at people I like in a way that minimizes or erases most of thier faults. I turn them into a literary character more or less. Likewise, if i don't like you, I'll be annoyed by things and behaviors that i would tolerate in someone I liked more. And if there are things I don't know about you, I'll sort of fill the blanks in my own mind, based on what I already know about you.

The problem becomes when a person behaves in a way which deviates from my perception of them. Even though I made up the perception in my mind, I feel betrayed, horrified, even lied to by people who are really just going around living thier lives. So either I'm going to have to get a handle on this, or you're all going to have to start being as cool and non-fucked up as you are in my mind--ALL the time.

Actually, since I met you my opinion of you has changed a lot, as your life changed. I mean really, when i met you, you were married to someone totally inapporpriate who was messing up your life in huge ways. You have come so far since then its like you're a while different person.

I used to just like you, now I'm pretty much in awe of you.
