My hot hot work meeting

Work meeting today to discuss per cap. I'm going to look into new places to get us sammiches, since we don't have them anymore. Let me ask you all this: what is the one food you would most like to have at the movies that no theatre has? I will then steal your ideas to make me look smarter...it's a valuable skill I picked up around here. Ultimately, I listened to my hot hot boss talk for 25 minutes, it was Awesome!

Getting hooked up tonight, so that will be fun. I think instead of having peeps over tomorrow night, we may all go to the State to see Eveil Dead movies, whichever one they are showing. Granted, I'm not a large fan of those films, but its free and will include all my swell Madstone peeps. I'm kind of bummed I have to work on Sunday, but I'll be glad when I get the cheque.

I heard some people saying that Simpsons was not very good this season. I would like to take issue with that, on the record. I think Dana Gould becoming an executive producer is a fine idea, and that this season has been an especially funny one. I know some people just like to bash things that are popular, but why on earth would you include Simpsons in that???

In other news, that Chasing Liberty movie is doing terrible.
Ha ha ha!

We are working towards a liquor liscence.

Second the beer, would add hot wings. Though I realize that that could be a cleanup nightmare.

But hot damn, good dark beer and hot wings at a movie would rock my world...

I wonder if there's a way to microwave those...

Beer and boneless hot wings -- which would be microwavable and no more messy than nachos.

Pizza rolls.

If it's been a lucky week, then Bruce Campbell vs. The Army of Darkness: Evil Dead III will be the Evil Dead feature. By far, it's the most entertaining movie. The original, however, is the best horror film.

I don't knwo what it is about the first ED movie, I just don't like it. The crappy dialogue makes it painful to watch, and the tree-rape.

Ew.

It is indeed Army Of Darkness. I was thinking about going....but, uh, let's see. I'm working a double, so that won't happen. But have a good time.

Matt F and I are working doubles too, we may have to drag you along kicking and screaming...

...if I can find my spare sack of doorknobs.

Some of my disliking of the newer simpsons episodes, not all from the current season, comes from seeing the evolution over the years. The simpsons had a huge impact on all facets of my life from about the 5th grade on. I got in trouble for saying hell because I heard on the simpsons. Anyways, I have put thought into the feelings. Some of it comes from myself growing. The show also grew but we grew in different directions. Some of the newer episodes had more of a family guy feel with the randomness and odd things but could not pull it off like the family guy.

Some of the newer episodes were more random and combined with the personal growth that we both went through some dislike developed. Of course there will always be a mostly positve connection.

I see. I guess that makes sense.

There have been so many writing changes ocer the years, that the show has certainly changed direction. Initially, Simpsons had the keenest observation of all prime time shows and used it to flawlessly mock middle class american life. After a few years of this, it sort of turned around and started mocking itself and the institution it had become.

Hilarious, but certainly different from the original vision.

I still find it funny. But in different ways. I guess they had to find new ways to keep it fresh. I just do not know if I was prepared for that change.

I sometimes sneak a Subway or a hamburger in when I go watch a movie.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-01-17 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, I was thinking sub sandwiches too.

Mmm, Subway. I love their veggie sub with extra pickles.
