The birthday that almost wasn't but then was:
While my birthday is not for two more days, my party was tonight. many people came and i got tons of presents. To go into it all in detail would be like bragging. so to spare those of you who don't care, I shall place the list of gifts i got under a cut .
A bunch of madstoners pitched in and got me the Queasy Bake Oven I wanted ever so much. Plus Mike got me a nice card and some more mixes for the oven. Dan martin got me a yoga book (tantric relaxation) technically, since he knows how tense i am. I got 3 DVD's: harold and Maude, True Romance, and the Pianist...complete with all kinds of filthy pianist jokes. Actually, i got several cool cards, and several people made the trip out from pretty far away, and/or when they had to work late/early tomorrow. i also got some rose scented girly things, soaps and such. And a sweet ass glass pipe with a wizard on it. i am calling it Gandalf, despite the percieved kitschyness of it. I got a mask from WWE (from Matt, who was just there!). Two people bought me cakes, and also I got a disposable camera to take pics. And pics I did take, they'll be hilarious too! i hope I haven't left anything out...Oh, Pat gave me a cute pencil in holder that looks like a potted flower. And martin said happy Bday to me on the radio, and it was really sweet and cool.
More importantly is the fact that many LJers were there, the usernames of whom I'm too lazy to put into HTML format. But here goes: ryan, J9, Matt, Metta and Dustin, Kassy, Dan Martin, Dan russell and Ariane, Mike, Adam from Sbarros, K and N, G and S, Topher and Norma (who brought games and door prizes), Sean our former madstoner. It was a big, loud, fun party with mad libs and excellent company that made me feel loved on my 33rd birthday without my having a husband or a family...which i never would have thought possible 5 years ago.
So there ya go!
Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes!

One time when I was in college, no card or anything came from my parents, and i was all sad. turned out there was a shooting at the post office in my hometown three days before. It came later...
