And I don't get around how you get around...

I think the bands They Might Be Giants and Ween should follow me around on alternate days. Having them play the live soundtrack to my life would give me some much needed whimsy...

I ask you, gentle readers, who should follow you around, enloudening your life's melody for all to hear?

That's right, i said "enloudening". Purists claim it's "not a word". Anyone NOT know what it means?
Okay then.

Okay!

That depends . . .

Different Days would call for Different Bands.

If I had to narrow it down, it would be Kitaro (Asian New Age), DeVision and VNV Nation, The Red Elvises (Six-String Samuri soundtrack) or Carl Stalling (Warner Brothers cartoons from 30s to 50s)

Intriguing choices...

...just what I would have expected.

Wow, for a baby, your tastes are pretty well roudned!

I'm not sure... if I were to play my life story it'd probably have to start off with my mom giving birth to me and "We are family" playing in the background somewhere. Then, some stupid kid-songs, some classical music (usually Mozart or Chopin) my dad played on the piano while we jumped around and "danced" like crazy people. Then, I guess stuff like the Michael Jackson that I miss, some early rap, New Kids On the Block (which I'm embarrassed to say I listened to when I was little)... I don't know. Stuff like Green Day or Nirvana for early high school, Aerosmith, more classical and then the old-school folk stuff I like, a bunch of country... geez... my musical tastes varied thruout my life.

I can relate to most Indigo Girl's songs though. And Sheryl Crow, Gotta love Melissa Etheridge... stuff like that. :) I'm just a musical mess

New Kids were great! I agree. I have a video of me dancing to them and my lil nephew at 6 months going uh uh oh uhh ohh. It is like for pay back time. But I loved Joey. I wanted to marry him.

Me too. Joey was so hot.

Some moments would definately have Danny Elfman tracking behind them. Other moments would get the bright whimsey of some of the sillier Bealte songs eg: "You Know My Name."
I can hear some video game music while I'm driving, and some John Williams while I'm on a quest to make the theaters all clean and spiffy.

I love my Wesley Willis, They Might be Giants, Frank Zappa, Atom's Package, and the theme to Seasame Street, but I like to shake it to burning down the house.

Ween is so fucking awesome. I think I'd be down for S.P.O.C.K (lameass awesome synthpop) or Schlong to play me around town. That or Ennio Morricione.

I guess I'd want Tori Amos doing the soundtrack to my life. Sometimes it seems she already does (Scarlet's Walk was a strange and enlightening listen when I first heard it...) But on my depressed days or on days when I really want drugs and I just don't have them (whatever happened to LSD, dammit??) I think I'd have to agree with you on TMBG and Ween.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2003-11-17 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought aboud tori Amos too...but I always leve feeling like a victim.

Not the makings of a good day. But I also like Komeda in the morning.
