First you get the sugar, then you get the money, then you get the women...
Let Go of My SUGAR!!!
Okay, I don't really have a gross of sugar around here, but I could.
I want to make yet another point about the control that we each have over our own life.
If you walk to work everyday, and two houses down there's a dog that bites you every single day, what do you do? Do you:
a) yell at the dog each day, eventually he'll stop.
b) kick the dog each day, maybe he'll stop.
c) tell the owner of the dog each day, maybe he'll do something eventually.
d) change your route to work.
e) deal with it, there's nothing to be done.
The answer should be pretty obvious. There is always a choice you can take that will make things better. There are also many choices that could be tried, but may not work. My point is that your fate is ultimately in your own hands. Complain all you like about how much the world sucks, but only you can fix your own life.
They say that the definition of insantiy is repeating the same behaviors and expecting different results.
And dammit, that is true. That must be why I quote it so often...
In the end, I'm saying two things:
1- I love my readers at LJ very much, and I want them to be happy and successful.
2- You are all grown-ups or thereabouts. Stop complaining to everyone in sight about your problems if you aren't doing anything meanningful about them. Yes, life is hard, and everyone suffers. No One gets treated well all the time, and no one gets everything they need handed to them forever. But we all have power to control out own lives. What we do with each day we are given is wholle and entirely up to us, and only we are held accountable in the end.
If you don't defend yourself, no one else will.
If you don't know that you deserve good things, no one else will tell you.
If you don't love yourself, no one else will ever really love you.
Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you won't get anything else done with your day...
