Wisdom of Moving

I think i'm going to ask Steve to come over to feng shui the new place. That is if [livejournal.com profile] uterdic doesn't crack up at the very idea. I just think it would be good. Of course, we still don't know if we *got* the place, since they haven't told us for certain yet.

People have some great suggestions for you when you move, and lots of lame ones. Some of the helpful ones include setting up your bed first when you start putting things away. That way, it's ready for you when you need to crash out.

Also, I am mislabeling my boxes so no one gets the idea to misplace a box labeled "DVD's" or "priceless antiques" (we're using professional movers--whatever that means--I guess that we pay them money). Kitchen stuff will be labeled "severed heads" because that is funny to me!

I'm drinking some new kind of clear tropical soda without caffeine. It is tasty!

you're so funny..
severed heads, I like that.

It reminds me.. today, I was cleaning up my room and I filled a huge garbage bag up with, well, garbage and drug it out to the trash can, then I realized it was so heavy and mis-shapen it looked like I had just carried out a dead body to the end of the road.. this scares me, what if someone winds up missing, or even worse, dead, around here?

All my neighbors saw me carry out that bag, and they all know I rarely leave the house, they might think it was me.

to be continued..

Riiight...

And the trail of "ketchup" or was it "catsup"? is just a coincidence I'm sure.

exactly.

"no, officer, I don't know how that body got into the garbage can.. I swear, I don't know what your talking about, and no, I can't explain where these blood stains came from.. maybe I cut myself? ..im a heavy bleeder."

severed heads! I love that! I have heard some horror stories from folk in the navy who have had people move them. Luckily we have only had a few problems with breakage..no theft.

I love your new user pic!

Moving advice

If you need any advice or help call on us. Nate and I are pro's at moving. We've moved 8 times in the past 5 years. Here is some good unsolicited advice though, do not smoke before you are finished with a big unpacking project. You will loose motivation and nothing will get done. Okay, good luck on the apartment! Keep us notified about it.

Thank you for the advice!

I have expereinced that in my last move, so I'm well aware of the unmotivational properties of smoking.

We are using 2 Men and a Truck movers, whose prices, amazingly have gone down since last time I used them 4 years ago.

What do you label the actual severed heads?

DVD's.

Let the movers take the rap.

I usually put mine in a box marked large bills and gold boullion.
