New Hair...

As many of you know, I'm vaguely dissatisfied with most of my life. As such, I smoke a lot of pot, spend money I dont' have, and color my hair fairly often.

Usually, I pick out some variation of red or auburn, because i like it. Darker for winter, lighter and redder for summer. But the weather has been kind of crazy...

Plus I always ask for H's input. Trouble is, he always picks blondes and browns.
As if...

But this time, he picked Cinnamon. So I'm using it. In fact, I'll be rising it out in about 5 minutes, and rushing to dry it before work. Hopefully, it will look smashing.

You know what though?
H is colorblind.

Similar studies have also pointed that men like the smell of men's cologne, and perfumes, whereas, women like the smells of their own products. Therefore, if you want to attract the other sex you should wear the opposite scent.

I'm pretty sure that pouring beer on yourself (as a woman), or just being clean (as a man) might help a bit too.

Interesssssting on the same sex scents.

Since we're digressing anyway, I had a gay roomate who swore by vanilla extract. He's put a dab of it behind his ears before going out.

You have a point with the beer thing, maybe. I did a beer rinse on my hair once and then went up to the restaurant/bar in the marina I live at.

Suddenly everyone started ordering Sierra Nevadas and giving me compliments..... :)

Few more random smells

Vanilla am good. I bought a bottle of "Vanille Carmel" from Victoria's Secret because I liked the scent so much. I'm not sure if it made a difference with the ladies because I've always been successful with them*, but it was certianly a more flowery smell then any men's cologne I've ever smelled. Seriously though, do you think women like musky leathery smells? I don't, and I'm a guy. Of course I have a bit of aversion to the whole perfume thing because of its origin: hiding body odor in the middle ages, when people wore the same wool clothes for weeks on end, and had to look clean. But that's not the point. Ok I'm rambling.

I think I'd have to have an example of a musky leathery smell. Leather, definitely. Musk + leather....not able to picture it.

I'm ashamed but I'm fond of the scent of Old Spice and the only man who ever wore that was my grandfather. But if I smell it now I get all warm and fuzzy....(in a conflicted sort of way lol).

I agree with you - I'm not big on the whole perfume thing. In fact when you mentioned the same sex scents I was trying to think of what a common woman's perfume was. I know names, but not scents.

I wasn't refering to any musk+leather smell in particular. But most men's perfumes consist of some combination to the two of these scents.

I'm a much bigger fan of the same sex scents. Though I still don't wear much of anything (smell-wise), but at least you can get away from the stereotypical smells of men vs. women.

Musk is very finicky. I don't mind wearing an unwashed shirt from time to time, but the socks I peel off my feet at the end of your average seven-hour shift are close to demanding their right to self-rule. Their bioterrorism is horrid.

T-shirts, socks and underwear are the articles of clothes I won't repeat wearing before washing. Sweatshirts, flannel, sweaters, jeans are a different story all together.
