FWIW, "biological male" is a no-no. A trans woman isn't anything male, except "designated male at birth". I dunno anything about what this person said about you, but yeah, good rule of thumb is to avoid calling any aspect of a trans person's life by the wrong gender. Sorry that person was nasty about it though. :(
