Star Trek Reboot: Most entertaining and fun. Hard sci-fi, not so much. Well cast, plenty of heroism and badassery. Thumbs up!

Press Releases? Generating no response whatsoever. Glad those are free to produce and send because nobody seems to give a crap. EDIT: Spoke too soon!

My "friend" Cindy: reaching critical mass with that whole situation. Complete extrication likely in very near future.

Next book to read: Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. Let's hope I don't throw this book angrily across a room when I'm done with it--like I did with Mystic River. Damn, that's a tragic story.

Bought H an amazing Valentine's Day present. It's this and I suspect that he will like it very much. Don't spoil it, plz.

Preorder link for new book still not up. May not be up until official release date, which is the 10th. Let's hope so, I'm getting a bit antsy.

I've yet to understand why critics and such are so into Dennis Lehane. His stuff is okay, but nothing special or that I haven't seen done equally as well by others.

Even reading Shutter Island a few months back I found it to be quite simplistic & connect the dots. I hope the movie has a visual language to it!

BTW, recently read Brian Keene's DARKNESS AT THE EDGE OF TOWN in one gulp. Not his best, but quite outstanding.

I only sent out about 9 press packets for the book release. So far I've gotten a radio interview, and that listing, and a guy I know at WAAM is going to do something to cover the event, but I don't know what yet. So it's coming right along. I keep waiting for some magical thing to happen that catapults me to fame. Then I realize how unhealthy it is that I'm longing to be catapulted.

I heard back at someone from Freep this morning (that being Detroit Free Press). Apparently they couldn't open the zip file so I had to send them some stuff individually. I hope that's not a widespread problem. I'd love to get some coverage in the Detroit area. I always love rubbing my pseudo success in the faces of my former tormentors! ;-]
