Thanks, but piss off.

FYI, my short story "The Long Weekend" which I totally slaved over was REJECTED by the anthology I wrote it for.

This is not a huge surprise, because the story I produced was less than inspired. Decent premise, worked really hard on making it active voice and scary. Didn't really come together in the end. Why?

For one thing, Sci-Fi (or is it "Syfy" now??) is not my genre of choice. I watch the hell outta some BattleStar Galactica, but I certainly could not write it.

Secondly, writing in the 3rd person POV is very difficult for me. It always comes out sounding too passive.

Third, I don't care enough about the "how" of things, only the "why." But when you're making a frankly preposterous assertion, it's kind of important to put a believable slant on things. As they say, the difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to be totally believable.

So...back to the old drawing board.
Which for me is my computer, which I need to get fixed.
