Why am I always the last to know?
So...Lindsay Lohan is gay? Do people know about this? How did that tidbit of knowledge escape me for so long? I don't care. I just think it's weird that I didn't know.
Replacing Dimitri Martin with Reno 911!?!??
Don't toy with me, television.
Shock of all shocks, Crabbe tokes up, presumably with Goyle. Not sure why people are giving him such a hard time about it. First of all, Crabbe can hardly be considered a "role model." Secondly, he's almost 20 years old. He's hardly a child. Thirdly, I'm sick to death of people being so sanctimonious about pot smoking. Get over it already.
Before I talk specifics about tonight's LOST, I have to express my profound dismay at the fact that an EBS test ran during the second to last segment of the show. It's a well documented fact that Ann Arbor has a very high per capita of LOST fans. Choosing to cut into a new episode on prime time is careless or stupid or ignorant or mean. I missed at least a minute of actual show. Anyway, let's begin with this "surreal" photo of the two Bens:
It's no secret to anyone that Ben is my second favorite character after Hurley. But while I know that Hurley is a good guy, there is a lot of debate about Ben. Of course, he does a lot of horrible shit. But is it really all for the greater good? Tonight's episode went a long way toward affirming that Ben is one of the good guys.
Locke was surprisingly cool about Ben killing him for the second time. Why they kept failing to mention that it was the second time, I do not know. I very much enjoyed the Ben/Locke reversal, but I could watch Michael Emerson act all day long. Locke suddenly having all these answers is a mystery unto itself. Then again, it's reasonable to assume you'll have increased knowledge when/if you come back from the dead.
Speaking of which, did anyone else think that perhaps the island was giving Alex back to Ben? But I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
The Smoke Monster. What is it? We still don't know, but it's likely the oldest thing on the island by a wide margin. If you're being depicted in hieroglyphics, you're at least as old as an Anne Rice vampire. What we do know is that the monster judges you. And it is merciful when you repent. Mister Eko did not repent, Ben did. I don't know if this makes Ben a better person than Eko (I always liked him, myself) but it must mean that all things that Ben has been doing are basically okay in the grand scheme. OR does that judgment only pertain to the issue of Alex? I guess we don't know for certain. But the island had a chance to take Ben out; it let him live. And Wednes breathes a hugh sigh of relief and "I told ya so."
LOST answered some nagging questions tonight: How did Ben know the baby's name was Alex, for example. Where does the smoke monster come from? What is it's purpose? Why does Widmore hate Ben so much? What happened to injure Ben before he got on the plane? All answered. Yay, LOST! Way to serve it up! I daresay, next week looks even more exciting.
Went to the docs today. As I was saying on Facebook, for a fat chick I'm in really good health. Cholesterol is good, sugar is in the normal range, weight is down, heart and kidney's doing their thing, and blood pressure right where it should be. So fie to the idea that I must be close to death because I am heavy. That said, I think I'm gonna try to step up the exercise.

It's a shame. I was rooting for them.

apparently they both just happened to fall in love with women but had never considered themselves gay. this always amazes me.

I identify as "mostly straight" but I have certainly had a few girl-crushes in my day. ;-]
