People I encounter have been talking a lot about Satan lately. Is this as odd as i think it is? Do people still go around thinking about Satan?

In the simplest terms, I beleive that Satan was invented shortly after Christianity to make God more interesting, and to explain why bad things happen to good people. Besides, humans love to have an excuse for thier own lack of judgement...
I know I do...

It leads me to ask: Who is this Satan (not in an A&E Biography way--although they did an excellent job), and how does beleif in him/it affect ones day-to-day life?

Personally, I don't think about Satan too much. I used to, but I focus less on punishment now and more on growing.
