So tell me...

I'm curious to know what you all want for Christmas.
Not the intangibles (H asks for "love" every damn year, which is no help at all), but the buy-at-a-store material goods that you are really craving this holiday season.

As for me, I want Scene It! BOS and Lips which you all must know because I haven't shut up about them since I got the Xbox360 for my birthday.

H's mom and fam got us this, from Harry & David. It's great if you're not trying to stave off diabetes. I think H's mom forgot about that, but it's a swell gift all the same. Delicious.

So I ask again: what do YOU want for Christmas.
And if there's a disparity between what you want and what you could reasonably get, I wanna hear both!!

Now, I'm off to work!

I suspect that I want the same intangibles as everyone else - peace, love, a social safety net, a Constitution, the prosecution of the sociopaths who run our country....

But in terms of worldly goods? There's things that are shiny and desirable, but they are in a whole separate class. Amazon keeps a wee list of those for my own reference:

I want a coat rack, a clean house, and for Ben not to have any food allergies when we start giving him solid foods around Christmas time. I'd also like a second bathroom for our house.

Nice list!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you had him tested for allergies?
I hear it's fairly expensive.

[identity profile] purplecat-a2.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
No. We don't have any reason to believe he will have allergies, it is just something they tell you to watch out for when you start a baby on solid foods. You only introduce one new food every few days so you can make sure he doesn't have a reaction to it.

I see.

Well, lets hope he's allergy free!

I want a big shiny new tv! But that's not going to happen. So, more likely items that I've asked for: Twilight boxed set and The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean on dvd.

[identity profile] sexyrockgoddess.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
There is honestly not a single thing that i really want i have some box sets, and such but nothing that i would be bummed if i did not receive. I have been in a state of trying not to want since i am so broke, for the new year i wanted to get into grad school but i did not apply so that's not applicable. I want health, happiness, love, and friendship that is all.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Judge Roy Bean? Doesn't that movie have Anthony Perkins in it? I love him.

Everyone deserves a nice TV, maybe the TV fairy will leave you one?

I feel kinda the same way. There's nothing I'd be truly sad not to get. I just sort of want some new games to play with friends.

The intangibles are so much more important.

[identity profile] leemoyer.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a big list, but at this point in my life it really can't be.
I own the Codex Seraphinianus, the Vertigo tarot, Zany Afternoons, Doom Patrols et al...

I hope you get what you want! :)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Somebody was just telling me about the various comic book Tarot sets that exist. I had no idea.

[identity profile] leemoyer.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
The Vertigo is a pricey and interesting set by Dave McKean.
Quite out of print....

The unlikely is a washer & dryer for the apartment, so I don't have to spend money on gas or laundromats to get clean clothes.

The likely is books, since I <3 books and pretty much everyone knows it.

The intangibles are intangible, and I already have a pretty awesome family, sweet friends, a place to live, a functioning car, and a reliable job. There's not much I really need, and I'm pretty much content.

I hope you get your games!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-12-18 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL Thanks!!

I know what you mean about the intangibles. I feel like life has really hooked me up.

I got one of those Harry & David towers one year. It was awesome. If you decide you REALLY don't want the chocolate decadence, I'd be happy to take if off your hands.

LOL

Yeah, it's good stuff.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's really neat!

BTW, can I count on you two for New Year's Eve?

I want some DVD boxed sets, a winning lottery ticket, and some recommendations as to what kind of coat rack I should buy for [livejournal.com profile] purplecat_a2

Something made of beautiful wood.
