Maybe I'm turning into a redneck?

I notice that I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the language barriers I encounter at work. Today, I was on the verge of screaming "SPEAK ENGLISH" to this poor woman who kept yelling at me because I couldn't understand her.

You know how some people raise thier voices when they feel they aren't being understood? She was doing that, and it wasn't helping at all. She didn't understand what I was asking her, and it was very difficult to match her up with the right products because the language barrier was so great. She was Asian. We get a lot of Asian callers, because of Suzuki method and all that. I feel really bad that I'm getting so frustrated. Usually I do a really good job of being patient with people and conquering the language barrier. But not today I guess...
So now I have to figure out a way to increase my level of patience so everyone can get good service regardless of their mastery of the language. Or I suppose I could learn Chinese, Korean, and maybe something else.

Watched BattleStar Galactica last night, the "new" episode. Chief Tyrol is losing his goddamn mind. And we haven't seen Gaeta in forever. I heart that Felix Gaeta. Names with X's in them are inherently awesome.

My envelopes have arrived to send out the books. I got cool red ones that are shiny. I should be getting the books any day. Then I already have to order more because the five extra I ordered are all spoken for. Speaking of the book, I'd be forever grateful if any of you want to leave reviews on Amazon. [livejournal.com profile] nate101000 left me an awesome review, but I'd like to get a whole bunch more. Then I'll be just like Scott Sigler ;-] That guy has legions of fans, the bastard!

You may have tried this, but see if they can clarify by catalogue number. "A70" is probably easier for them to say than "Avsharian - Fun With Solos."

Yeah, I do do that. It's always easier when people have catalog numbers. But when trying to explain the difference between D129S and D135S can be downright painful when there is a language barrier.

I hadn't thought of that...

Fine idea.
