Events Leading up to My Death:

Holy Crap, again with these fucking docs wanting to crack my head open. I think they are exaggerating. I think they must be overlooking a zillion other options that don't involve works like "open" and "head".

AND, I ran out of meds this weekend because the stupid nurse forgot to call my stupid scrip to the stupid pharmacy (actually, they are great at the pharmacy). It was very stupid. So that has been disasterous in terms of overall calmness and that whole thing where I control my ability to freak out. English? I've been freaking out all weekend and still now. Tomorrow I will see the doc yet again and get my meds so I can take them again.

Sorry to ramble on about boring crap, but as I may have mentioned, its freaking me out.

Um...WHAT?

Why do they want to open your skull, kiddo? That's not just your standard routine maintenance, unless you're Data, and I'm guessing you're not.

I'm with ya on the freakage factor.

I have dementia pugilistica, which is more commonly called punch-drunk syndrome. basically its when you have bruising on the brian caused by repeated blows to the head, over a long period of time.
I got it when I was a kid, but its only been diagnosed for the last year and a half, or so.
Currently, I am having what my doc calls "severe migraines". But they are talking about making a small hole in my head to take pressure off my brain, which is supposed to make me not have shaky hands or headaches. But they don't think it will have any affect on stuff down the road, like alzheimers or whatever.

I just think there is no reason to do something so radical. I've had only 2-3 of these headaches in the last few months, and I am hoping they will go away. I know things don't just "go away" but its a little soon to go cracking things open in my opinion.

What do you mean drilling holes in the head is bad?

Trephination is the ancient practice of drilling a hole in the skull and removing a small piece of bone. Although the practice may be ancient and seem primitive, it is amazingly suited to solving the problems of modern man; problems caused by the pressures of life in our advanced technological society. Trephination literally relieves the pressure in your brain.

As you know, Today's society takes care of all your physical needs. Your abilities for reason and judgment are redundant in a world where all this is done for you. Your capability of thought is a aftereffect of evolution from eons ago when thought gave our ancestors a survival advantage. Now there is no survival advantage to thought. As a result, your ability to think has no constructive use. In fact, most people channel their idle thoughts into destructive directions. People start to feel concern for things they cannot change or understand. This results in stress - the number one killer in the world today.

Moreover, doctors now tell us that the rate of incidents of depression and anxiety due to excessive worry is increasing every year. Soon there will not be enough Prozac to treat all the victims of idle thoughts.

Why worry about your diet, exercise, carcinogens, murder, and war, when the real cause of misery and death is worrying about these things? And the real cause of worry is your brain. Yet, how can you not worry? The answer is to attack the problem and not the symptoms. The problem is your brain.

Today, we can offer more than just trepanning (cranial ventilation). Modern surgical techniques allow you to choose as much or as little brain modification to best suit your lifestyle -- from simple Trephination; to lobotomy; to complete decephalization. Come speak with one of our counselors who can help you decide which is the best brain for you.

If you have put off brain surgery before because you didn't want unsightly scars or stitches, then your wait is over. With modern surgical techniques available only through the Trepan Brain Clinic, no one will ever know of your surgery. You won't ever have to be seen with you head shaved. We can use micromanipulators through a small hole in the ear or sinuses to perform most surgical procedures. You will feel less discomfort; you will go home faster; and best of all, it's so fast and easy that you don't even need an appointment.

Remember, only your brain stands in your way of your happiness.

oh my... no.... NO!!! Never ever let doctors do anything... they are like car mechanics and just swindle you out of your money. You have to be kidding about brain surgery... why do they want to do it exactly? (if you don't mind me asking)

I've done quite a bit of that...well, kind of.

Actually, they don't anymore. I went in for the consultation today. Something they thought might be a big lesion is not really that. Glad it took 2 sets of Xrays to see that...glad I'm not paying for all of this crap!

As usual, I was freaking out over nothing without having all the facts. But just hearing someone say "we may have to go in there" is bad enough to cause me to panic.
