We saw Howl's Moving Castle which is a delightful little piece of anime. If you liked Spirited Away, this one will likely bring you joy.

One thing I noticed is that Christian Bale's voice is so sexy, that when he voices a cartoon, he makes the cartoon character sexy. I love that Christian Bale.

Tell me kids, what's your fave movie with Christian Bale???

Henry V

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
He was barely in that, wasn't he?

[identity profile] leemoyer.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
You ask: "what's your fave movie with Christian Bale???" and it is indeed Henry V. He's not in it long, but neither is Ian Holm or Brian Blessed. He's terrific and quite important in his way. It's certainly not his movie, but that wasn't the question. : )

If you want to know what movie I most enjoyed with Mr. Bale in a lead, that might be "The Prestige".

It's a fair answer to be sure, I was just surprised. Especially since we'd already discussed that you liked The Prestige.

I'm sad we won't get The Dark Knight until 2008.

Henry V is my Shakespearian wife's favorite movie ever.

BUt I'm pleased to own the Prestige as well. It seems to weather time and memory very well indeed. ANd Bowie as Tesla? Crazy. :)

Bowie sort of makes any movie he's in. I've always loved him as Pontius Pilat.

Velvet Goldmine!!

(Christian Bale AND Jonathan Rhys-Meyers AND Ewan McGregor. And it's a pretty cool movie, too. ;) )

I second that. :) (Although I also put in a vote for Swing Kids!)

I have to admit I've never seen a movie with Christian Bale in it.

[identity profile] sexyrockgoddess.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree he made the movie sexy!:) I believe he was in batman begins, so thats my favorite.

[identity profile] sexyrockgoddess.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
actually the prestige he was really sexy there too.

[identity profile] kjtoo.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you know he's all kinds of hot in The Machinist.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked him best in American Psycho, although I remember teh book being better. I had it on tape and used to listen to it driving back and forth to Howell. Still, as for your question, He's awesome in the film.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I forgot all about that one!
Good call...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT?!?

Really?

Not even Little Women?

American Psycho is genius, really. It has a female director and is very funny in parts.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Right on, he was awesome in that.
New Batman in 2008.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, The Prestige was an incredible film.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah? I haven't seen that one.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I concur. The movie has a very different tone than the book, the book isn't even very funny but the movie made me LOL several times.

Not even. ; ) I've heard good stuff about American Psycho, though.

[identity profile] kjtoo.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I joke, actually. He lost a ton of weight to play a very emaciated machinist. I think he weighed about 120 pounds and looked like he weighed about 80 pounds. He had to put all that weight back on right afterward to play Batman/Bruce Wayne.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh right. I vaguely recall hearing about that.
