Can I get a Woot Woot?

It appears that I am finished with editing The Cat's Apprentice. Yep, finished, finito, all done. I'll probably let it sit for a few weeks and then give it another going over.

But for right now it is done.
If anybody wants to read the finished version (who knows, you might catch a huge mistake) just drop me a note and I'll whisk you off a pdf.

And now...back to my serial killer!!!!
How I have missed him.

I just read in a wedding comm about a girl whose Mother and StepFather planned a trip to the same city as them during their honeymoon. Can you imagine having your folks coming along for something so private? Do people really think parents are welcome on a honeymoon? WTF are people thinking? H and I are going with close friends, see, that makes sense because they are friends. Parents barging in is just awful. **shudder**

Kim sent me this, I thought it was hilarious.

If you can't read it, clicky to make biggie.

<train whistle> WOOOOOT! WOOOOOT </train whistle>

I'd love to read your latest triumph!

My Matron of Honor went to Florida for her and her parents were there too. I'm not sure how much time they spent together, but I'm sure they spent part of the honeymoon with her parents (probably not the GOOD parts, though)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
LOL Thanks!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine parents on a honeymoon could work if everybody was in agreement. The poor girl I talked to was VERY upset about it. ;-[

I'll send you a pdf of the novel. I'd love to hear what you think. It's very different than the first one.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'll read it too. After Sadie, I'm ready for more. It was very fucking good.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
O-tay.

[identity profile] diachrony.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Woot Woot!

I'm now waiting for the version I get to PAY for. ;D But I've read a bit of the serial killer story and am really enjoying it (but I'm not all caught up with what you've done so far yet).

Hah, I really enjoyed that cartoon!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
This is my second published novel, so it won't be available for purchase until September '08. The first one will be out this coming April. I'm pretty damn excited.

Some day, the serial killer will be in a buyable format as well. ;-]

Two woots for you! Good job! I'd love to read the finished version.

[identity profile] ladybutterfly74.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm all about reading it! Whisk away!

**If possible before Sat morning, we are heading up to Breckenridge for a week and I would love to read it while I am there and have some quiet.**

PDF Me, please! carlfox@charter.net

PS. Read your take on the ending of Sopranos. I've never seen a single episode, yet your cut-to-black explanation sounded so simple. I think you may be the only one who got it. Everyone else seems to still be pissed that nothing happened. I read the Late Show with David Letterman blog every day (it's called the Wahoo Gazette, it's at http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/wahoo/ ). If you're not familiar, it's written by a backstage guy at the show and he tell what happens backstage during the show and at the end rants about things. He was ranting about Sopranos the other day, so I emailed him your explanation. Here's what he wrote back to me:

Ooh, I like that one. I'll use it at my next party and pretend it's mine. Thanks.

<My initial note to him. You're the friend!>
Re: Sopranos I've never watched even a single episode of the Sopranos but I have a friend who has this take on it: There was a flashback scene in the episode where Tony and Bobby are talking about when "it" happens (when someone gets whacked or when you die) and Bobby says something like "I suppose it all goes black". So at the end of the episode when it all went black, that was Tony getting whacked in front of his family.

Be assured if I use this at my next party, I'll give you due credit.

Then you can buy it when it comes out!!!

Just kidding, I'll send it along.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool, I'll get it right out to you.

But you should still buy it when it comes out. ;-]

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL Plenty of die hard fans feel the same as I. I think it's silly how many people wanted a clean, visual ending. It's like have you been watching all this time???

I'll send off the pdf in a few minutes.

And this does not releive you of your obligation to buy the book when it comes out next year. ;-]

well of course I will you silly girl..... I love to proof things. I am reading some books that have been published and am finding errors that no one else caught....im good at that kind of thing. =)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-15 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Cooooool.

[identity profile] ladybutterfly74.livejournal.com 2007-06-15 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
I am printing it now...for some reason it is easier for me to read on paper...easier to make notes and stuff I guess..... glad we have a laser printer, makes it MUCH easier...LOL!

You shall hear from me when I am done. =)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-06-15 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. When I do serious editing, I have my buddy print out copies for me (he gets "free" copies at work) so I can work on paper.

I hope you find it a good read. I'm looking forward to your comments.

p. 70 You use the word siting. I'm not familiar with it, or did you mean citing? p.81 begins "To their great surprised" lose the d.
Also I got confused as to who "their" referred to. Did Tiza enter with her? Or should it be to "her" great surprise? Lower down on the same page "He didn't act rude of suspicious" replace of with or.
That's all I got so far. I've read thru p 112. I like it.

Do you have a regular email address or do you prefer I communicate this way. You may email it to me if you don't want it published here.

Yeah, I'll be going over it again for typos and just general flakiness. I'm done with the huge plot editing though, which was enormous because this book was a mess when I first finished.

I dont' think it's as good as my first novel (which you can buy in April), but it's a fairly gripping read, I think.

GUESS WHAT!

[identity profile] ladybutterfly74.livejournal.com 2007-06-23 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I am done with it!!!!!

Okay sweetie, first of all ~ I loved it!!! It kept me guessing at the end. =) and of course I kept guessing wrong...lol!!

When I get home tomorrow (sat) or some time on Sunday, I will send you an email with the stuff I caught and any other notes I have for you.

It truly makes me think twice about my lil' kitty now... *wink*

Thank you so much for giving me the oppritunity to help you out with this.

I'm really glad you liked it, and delighted to hear that my ending is not guessable.

I'm not too worried about grammatical or spelling errors right now. I'm going to go over it again for those later. But any plot or character things, I'd love to know what you think.

Alrighty then, you got it kiddo =) That I can do.
