Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] swayworn for making sure I'm in a shitty mood before breakfast. ;-]

Bush explains that no one in his administration ever implied that Iraq was responsible for 9/11

With video!!

So what I want to know is, why were there impeachment proceedings against Clinton for getting a hummer when no one is doing anything to take Georgie Porgie down after all his shenanegans?!? Grrrr.

The revolution will be traced back to you and me, baby.

Believe me, if someone would just BLOW Bush he'd get impeached. But as long as he goes around pretending like its everyone elses fault it will never happen. Clinton could never say he was getting blown for DEMOCRACY.

Are you saying you hate America?

I just watched the 3-hour BBC documentary called "The Power of Nightmares" (link can be found in my LJ -- I recommend you watch it. It's truly scary and fascinating) and I have an answer for you...

To the neocons (who have been the movers and shakers on the Right for decades), Clinton was the embodiment of evil, much like the USSR was the emodiment of evil in the 70s-80s. When Clinton rose to power, the neocons saw their control over the American people slipping away... and they did EVERYTHING in their power to discredit him. Clinton was the focus of the "us against them" attitude. Terrorism is that enemy today.

David Brock (who worked for the American Spectator magazine), was the main spokesperson against Clinton regarding Whitewater and Vince Foster. In the documentary he is interviewed, and he all but recants his claims. The interviewer asks Brock, "Did the neocons know the stories were untrue?" Brock says, "They didn't care because they were having a devestating
effect -- that it was political terrorism."

So that's why Clinton was impeached and Bush will never be. Essentially, even if Bush got a bj in the White House from Condi Rice while being sodomized by Donald Rumsfeld, he will never be impeached because the neocons won't allow it.

A nifty little aside -- the neocons were absolutely disgusted with the American people for not really caring about Clinton's indescretion. I truly believe that it's this hatred towards the American people that allows the current administration to do the things they do (i.e., violate civil liberties, wipe their ass with the Constitution, etc.). The documentary made the point that it's this type of thinking, on the side of the radical Islamists, that allows them to kill other Muslims without retribution. The radicals believe that because other Muslims are morally corrupt (i.e., they allow corrupt politicians to maintain power), they are not Muslims and therefore, are not protected under Islamic faith. Nice, huh?

Did you watch Colbert last night?

[identity profile] felixbunay.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, oooh. I know this one:

Because Clinton and the party controlling Congress were from opposite parties, and Bush and the party controlling Congress are from the same party.

Now ask me about the Constitution.

Answer: Nobody cares!

[identity profile] princezna.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's bullshit!!! GRRRRRR!!!!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I should borrow Colbert's food taster?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Clinton could never say he was getting blown for DEMOCRACY.

Damn. He could have if only you'd been his speech writer.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. And I also hate the troops. Fuck them!

Grrrrr.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I did check out that link when you posted it. A lot of that stuff makes me literally too angry to function.

A strong contempt for the American people would explain a lot. They have no respect for us and think we'll sit back and take everything they do to us...and guess what--we do! I have been saying for awhile that it's our high standard of living (cable, video games, "fun foods" etc) that keeps most people from rising up against the govt. Unlike other places in the world, we're too comfortable with our day to day lives.

Then again, I still think 9/11 was a huge, staged smokescreen to turn our attention away from the fact that Bush's people stole an election for him.

Political Terrorism. So that's one of those "if they're not for us, they're against us" things, no?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It's all so obvious now.

If you agree with someone's politics, they don't have to obey the law. Coooooooool.

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Then you know why Bush hasn't suffered any repercussions. The GOP is winning the war of publicity.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
LOL.. is this part of William Shatner's Celebrity Roast?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Nope.

I didn't hear a gay Sulu joke, did you?

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
LOL.. Only about 10 of them!
