I can go again if I want!

Rather than murder my loud ass neighbors (whose children are screaming and running up and down the hallway right now), I thought I'd take another stab at this movie guessing meme thing. I did this last week, and I think I made it way too easy. You horror fans out there were eating it for breakfast. So this time I'm trying some slightly more obscure movies, and more obscure lines from those movies. So we'll see how you punks do this time.

Same rules as before, 20 quotes, 20 movies, and I'll post your name and strike them once you guess them right.
And this time, we'll say you can only guess 4 so everyone who checks LJ on Saturday will get a chance.

Ready?

1. Dear Mr Brenner, you might need these love birds after all; they might improve your personality. [livejournal.com profile] squee1973

2. I'm afraid if I told you...you wouldn't even try it. [livejournal.com profile] sleazeanna

3. Did you drop this baby? His arms and legs are broken! [livejournal.com profile] lirrin

4. You forgot the breifcase?!? Don't you want the breifcase?!?

5. ...just any kind of sign. I'll be watching for it. [livejournal.com profile] porcelain72

7. Irnoic don't you think: your mother an adulteress, your wife an adulteress.

8. Not bad for a human. [livejournal.com profile] porcelain72

9. ...it means somebody cared about you enough to take your picture. [livejournal.com profile] porcelain72

10. My stepdad's not mean, he's just adjusting. [livejournal.com profile] porcelain72

11. I think your brain is going soft from that comedy you play with that young girl. Never tell anyone outside the family what you're thinking again. [livejournal.com profile] calaniana

12. Oh...you didn't see because you didn't WISH to see. Of course! [livejournal.com profile] absinthofheart

13. Guns are no good against the dead, only the living. [livejournal.com profile] stoppingpolaris

18. You must be the fastest gun in the west...or the biggest liar! [livejournal.com profile] thehula

19. I have no desire to put aside something as topical and timely as The Drowning Wife. [livejournal.com profile] lickingtoad

20. Your mother sucks cocks in hell. [livejournal.com profile] lirrin

Um. #6: Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? would be my guess.

There are three more that sound itchingly familiar but I am just terrible at remembering lines, and which lines are from which movie.

These things drive me nuts! I'll be whacking my forehead when I see the answers!

[identity profile] grammargirl.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
#15 is Harold and Maude.

[identity profile] sugarytea.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
15. is Harold and Maude.... but arg, I saw this post too late and was beaten. I love that line in the film.

[identity profile] lirrin.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Changed to make it only four:

3. Unbreakable
14. Life of Brian
17. Serpent and the Rainbow. Good flick. Read the book too.
20. The Exorcist. THIS is the easiest one. :)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Correctamundo!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed it is!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hey! I said four.

Those are all right, but I'm screening this as I'm crediting you for the first four only. Last time I got tons of complaints (from people who must be right at all times) that they got beat.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Lj is pretty hoppin' for a Saturday night!
I figured these would last until morning.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, cool enough.

Yeah, I guess #20 is pretty easy.

[identity profile] porcelain72.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
5. The Man With Two Brains (and one of my favorite scenes!)
8. Aliens
9. One Hour Photo
10. Death to Smoochy

[identity profile] sugarytea.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
oh wait, I do know another one!
8. is from Aliens.... I think anyway. My brain is not working tonight well.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Muy Bien!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
It is, but unfortunately [livejournal.com profile] porcelain72 was too fast for ya!

[identity profile] sugarytea.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
haha, i'm not good enough at this! ;)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, contrary to what they tell you in school...none of this goes on your permanent record.

[identity profile] lickingtoad.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
I waited, so it no longer feels cheatery.

2. 'Hannibal.'

19. 'Deathtrap.'

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
2. incorrect.

19. correct

[identity profile] sleazeanna.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
I believe #2 is from Hannibal. When he's on the plane and that kid thinks the brains look tasty. Aah, where have all the Hannibals gone?

[identity profile] sleazeanna.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, OK so I just saw the comment above mine...oopsie. perhaps that line from Hannibal is a nod to something previous and cooler..?

[identity profile] sleazeanna.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
OK, so Hann also says that in Red Dragon at the little soiree he hosts at the beginning...I think

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
You guys are so close...and yet, so very wrong.

;-]

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
You're gonna laugh when you finally figure it out.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
YES!!!

When he talks to the boy on the plane in Hannibal he says something like "Oh, I don't think you would like that." But the kid is persistent, so he relents.

But Red Dragon is the answer.

I do believe...

[identity profile] squee1973.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
...The first one is from "The Birds"--??
groovesinorbit: (merry and pippin from unknown)

[personal profile] groovesinorbit 2006-08-13 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
#1 The Birds

Ah, damn. Looks like someone beat me to it.

Is 16 from one of the Evil Dead flicks?

[identity profile] calpurnius.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
1) The Birds

11) The Godfather

Re: I do believe...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Brava!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope.

Odd for a zombie fan, I know; but I don't care for the Evil Dead movies. I know they're low budget & all...but like I always say: good dialogue is free.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-13 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You got beat to #1, but #11 is quite correct.

I was going to be really sad if nobody got The Godfather!
groovesinorbit: (merry and pippin from unknown)

[personal profile] groovesinorbit 2006-08-14 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
That is odd. I love the Evil Dead movies. Just something about the over the top of it all, I find hilarious. And the animated skeletons in Army of Darkness--I'm a sucker for animated skeletons. Damn you, Ray Harryhausen!

[identity profile] thehula.livejournal.com 2006-08-14 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
AAHH!!! I know one! I know one!! I know #18, which is from The Quick and the Dead! I think. No, wait, I know. I know one!!

[identity profile] batarde.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
13. House on Haunted Hill
16. Se7en (<3)

And I was too late to try for the other ones I know.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed you do!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Still, at this late date that's most impressive.

[identity profile] absinthofheart.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Jeff goldblum says #12. I can hear him say it. I think it's from Prince of Egypt.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-08-15 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Correct!!
