Time for another game of The Lesser Abomination!!! *clapping*

Here's a thing I copied from userinfoabbagirl where you put "your name looks like" into google (if you're still using that despite them being communist sympathizers) and post ten or so interesting ones. As usual, these are hard for me, since almost all of them were about weather.

Right now, Wednesday looks like a potential tornado

Wednesday looks like a fun time

Wednesday looks like a nice, even day.

Wednesday looks like the winner by a nose.

Wednesday looks like maybe a tiny bit of the same

Wednesday looks like my headache!

Wednesday looks like old wine in a new bottle.

Wednesday Looks like an alien, sings like a diva.

Wednesday Looks like that's the best we've got for a while.

Wednesday looks like a fairly sure bet.

Speaking of Teh Internets, here's a poll:

[Poll #740439]

Dang.

I don't know what I worry about specifically, it's more of a general concern and on principal.

I currently search with Google; have Email with Rambler.
Unfortunately, we have even more worst resource than Rambler.

The Right to Privacy.
In Russia? Sorry, not yet, not yet.

[censored] savages!

Who said that? Who the [censored] said that?

I disagree with the assertion that Google is wrong to abide by China's wishes.

Google is abiding by the laws of the country that they are operating within. That's what they do here. Google didn't refuse the justice department's request only out of principal. They basically said 'We don't legally have to give the records to you, so we aren't.' If a law was written that forced Google to give the records to the government, they would. Although I heard that they caved in the end. Do you know if that's true?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, anyone with principles is having a rough time right now.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
We don't officially have the right to privacy in The States.

And yeah, it's a sizable injustice in my opinion.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, they did (cave, I mean). Aparently it's legal if the government says it is.

Apparently you haven't heard about the whole "everyone deserves deomcracy" stance our government takes whenever countries with oil don't have it. The many US companies had been boycotting business in China because of their apalling record for civil rights; but then google decided the money was more important. That's why it is wrong, because rather than making an impact with a boycott, they took the money and said "fuck the populus."

Can I have more details?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
We have the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

I would assert that "liberty" includes privacy, and "happiness" includes your government not spying on you. Hell, we even take lives away when we think we have a reason (but that's another topic entirely). Our current regime doesn't seem to interpret the Constitution the samw way I do.

Understood.

Brave words. Respect!
Lucky people, you have the laws & the Constitution...

Guess you don't know all the truth...

We do have a Constitution, and I am grateful for the liberties it guarantees. Really. However, I am terrified and angered to see it being figuratively used as toilet paper by theives who stole two elections.

We must look so stupid to the rest of the world for "electing" that clown.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man...I can't wait until Stephen Colbert finds out about this!!

[identity profile] alex-a-polukhin.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
look so stupid
I don't think so.
The situation isn't very funny.

"electing"
Yes, exactly "electing", in quotes.
We have the same story. The second term, the third term, broken step ladder, fresh painted corrections on the storehouse wall.
Borys is the only one our politician who had left the scene of his own free will...

Who's Stephen Colbert?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
My bad. He has a comedy show where he parodies the conservatives and religious "right." Here're some links about the only man whose stood up to Bush lately:

Which makes them no different than a lot of other companies.

Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's good.
Seems like we've had this discussion before.
