Now I am the one who is "it"

[livejournal.com profile] aicerno tagged me to tell you all six unusual things about myself. I'm racking my brain to think of six things that most of you don't know. But I will...my apologies if you know some of these things already:

1. In the late 1990's used to be a fairly regular commentor on a talk radio show hosted by [livejournal.com profile] mrcrankypants. I talked about numerous topics including drugs, Tiger Stadium, phonesex as a job, cats, psychology, and a host of other topics I'm only marginally qualified to discuss. I even had a creepy radio stalker who cam around twice when I was on the air, and called several times when I did the show from home. I don't do too much radio anymore, but I'd like to do more voice stuff.

2. In college I directed a main stage performance of No Exit which is one of my favorite plays. I was the only student to ever direct main stage in my four years at Olivet. The play was not so good, and I found that my people skills, and management skills in particular were terribly, terribly poor. I don't do much directing anymore, but my people skills (arguably, I'm sure) are better.

3. I wish I had some tap shoes. I want to practice up again, because my tap dancing skills are likely not what they used to be. But I am a pretty good tap dancer--even though [livejournal.com profile] uterdic doesn't let me tap dance in his movies.

4. The first R rated motion picture I ever snuck in to see was this one. It was not very popular, nor risque. It had no memorable scenes and starred a bunch of people, the lead "actor" in paricular, who went on to do a whole lotta nothing. I'll bet most of you have never even heard of it, let alone seen it.

5. When I was a very little kid, I was jealous of Christians. I thought they were all in on some huge, cool secret about life and death and who's running it all, and I was pissed that they wouldn't let me in on it because I didn't know any of their cultish chants and songs. Even when I got a little older, I was jealous of people who honestly thought they could relax because ultimatley, everything in the universe was as it should be. How nice it must be, I thought to be absolutely sure that everything that happens is part of a greater purpose. But I have never been able to actually beleive that--not in any realistic way.

6. While I do not have a favorite candy bar, I feel strongly that any and all items who call themselves Candy Bars must contain the following: chocolate, nut or nut butter, something crunchy. If they don't contain these three things, they do not count. Note: plain bars of chocolate are called chocolate bars (or just "chocolate") and not Candy Bars. IMHO, of course.

Who Should Paint You: Alfred Gockel

All American yet funky, you inspire an artist's imagination
And while not everyone will understand your portrait, you will!

Sweet, I actually know who that is.
