Catching up with Wednes...

Today I got to work with one of my fave co-workers, and my hot, hot boss. That almost makes up for having to go in early on very little sleep.

After work I went shopping for stuff to make candles for Christmas gifts. They didn't have any granulated wax, nor did they have a good selection of beeswax sheets. Therefore, I am making Gelly (R with circle)candles with glitter and some kind of essential oil of my choosing. So that will be good. I've never used this stuff before, so if anyone has any tips, I'll be glad to hear them.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping so I can make granola, also for the holidays to give to all of my wonderful pals and co-workers. This year will be orange with cinnamon and dried fruit; and chocolate almond bannana. Mmmmm.

I also bought my very first kit ever to make a gingerbread house. I may get a kit from the M*stone and make them together (yes, we sell gingerbread hosue kits at a movie theatre, for some reason). I am toying with the idea of a gingerbread bordello...but I may think of something cooler later.

The Jimmy Claus premiere was enormous fun. I got to meet some new peeps I've never met before, like the very talented Tony B and Beau. I also got to chit chat with ThornSilvertree who is genuinely swell. If I had a car, I would totally stalk him. And if you haven't seen the Jimmy Claus movie, you can still buy one on VHS and DVD. It's quite good, and RJ dances really funny!

And tomorrow night at 11pm I'm going to see the sneak preview of Two Towers at work. I'll be curtain talking it all week. Yay!

Gel candles

Hey, let me know how it works out, okay? My wedding favors depend on it!

(Shhh! I'm pouring clear gel into a plastic martini glass that contains a polymer olive (handmade) on a fancy toothpick. Better than jordan almonds, no?)

That sounds awesome!!!

The stuff i have says to use in a glass or other heat proof container. I might be careful of a plastic martini glass...I'm going to see how hot it actually needs to be to pour, since I want to have glitter throughout mine.

Where does one acquire handmade polymer olives?

I'm worried about the temperature of the gel mix, too -- I'm hoping I can wait for it to cool just long enough for it to still be pourable.

I'm going to make them -- with a friend of mine and my mother-to-be. It'll be fun. I think...

Your granola sounds yummy! Could I ask for the recipe? Also, you need to take pictures of your finished Gingerbread House/Brothel. :)

I will most likely take pics of the gingerbrothel, unless it turns out like crap.

For granola, I use Alton Browns recipe, which you can find at FoodTV.com I just add an extract of my choosing and whatever nuts and fruits I feel like.

Much luck with the martini candles, that is a cool idea.
