Oh yeah...

Remember how I've been telling some of you that I don't support capitol punishment?

I lied.

No no no no no. You can't support it for some cases and not others. Presently some innocent people get convicted. There for when death is a possibly punishment, some innocent people will be killed. It may only be one in a hundred, or one in a thousand. But that's one too many and until there is a 100% sure method of determining a person's guilt, I'll stick by my opinion on this matter.

I was being facetious. I actually meant that there are some crimes so ghastly that they make me rethink my stance on such things. Of course I stand by my original beleifs given the current inadequacies in our legal system.

But that doesn't mean I don't think (viscerally) that Nickelodeon staffers who abuse children shouldn't be put down like dogs.

I have a special rage toward molestors... I honestly don't know if there is any type I despise more...no, there isn't.

Let me state first, that I am against the death penalty. When I think for fun, contemplating complex issues, were it my own situation...I would rather be murdered by the state than given life in prison, if convicted wrongly. Prison is not an environment I could exist in... if they didn't kill me, I would do it myself.

My point was... I knew there was a point somewhere...is that it makes me wonder.

Well, and him working for Nickelodeon just gives the connotation that he's raping and pillaging in CandyLand.

I don't support capitol punishment either and having a son of my own (and having been molested by my own father), I know that I'd want someone dead if they did anything to my son. But, most molestors were molested as children. That doesn't make what they do to others ok or forgiveable, but to me, I sort of see that as karma doing its own form of capitol punishment. And if you believe in god and heaven, those types apparently aren't too welcome there.

Besides, if someone harmed my child like that, I wouldn't want the government to take 'em out. I'd want to do that with my bare hands.

Wow.. that's messed up!

I'm the same way. I kinda like the death penalty, but since we don't seem to be very good at convicting the guilty and not convicting the unguilty, we probably shouldn't be killing anyone. And it doesn't help that even if we could get our act together to determine who’s guilty and who’s not, we still don't apply the death penalty equitably.

It seems everyone should have a special rage toward molesters.

Sorry for initially deleting this, I wanted to put my rage userpic up.

I hear that.

I have a friend who has been falsely imprisoned for sex with a a minor. His lawyer was a tax attourney and it's all very stupid and crazy. But if we had the DP for such cases, he'd be on death row instead of in solitary.

I thought so.

His lawer was a tax attorney? That just keeps repeating in my head, along with, "that poor man".

I imagine he will appeal. But that's a horrible thing to be branded, even if he does get his freedom back.
