"Mad Props" is also the name of my theatrical knick-knack shoppe. Get it??
Mad props to
sleazeanna for giving me a copy of the Stewie movie. I shall be watching it later this evening with
uterdic and
smarbaby. That should prove to be riotous fun. I almost had to cancel the get-together because our toilet was broken and I was not able to plunge it out. But the emergency maintenance guy drove out from Dundee (about 25 minutes with no traffic) to fix it. He was freindly, nice and didn't leave a mess or complain about driving out here on a Sunday. I was very impressed and will call management tomorrow to tell them likewise. I always try to call if I have something complimentary to say so I'm not just calling when I'm pissed.
Yesterday, I hung out with
nate101000,
mguto75 and
absinthofheart. We were going to watch Kinsey but didn't in favor of catching the replay of Law & Order CI so that I could watch Chris Noth in all his hunky glory. I love that guy. But his character is rather unenlightened.
Friday night was group movie night. Five of us got together for tiny cakes, undercooked cookies and a viewing of Heavenly Creatures. Good times.
Still working on my preparations for NaNoWriMo. I want to have all my chapter objectives worked out before I start. That will lead to slightly less adjustments and editing later; though it may inhibit the organic plot growth I love so well. But you know, it will be cool to experiment and see what happens. Last time around, I had just the vaguest idea of what would happen and what the theme would be. Everything else happened as I was writing. It might be nice though, if it is less of a um...soul sucking mind fucker this time around.
I found a few ads worth pursuing in todays job listings. I figure I might as well apply to manage at that dollar theatre in the mall. I'd have to learn projection though. Frown. I'm also applying to work the overnights at SOS Comm services, and for a receptionsit gig. I have a couple of slick job outfits to wear now, I feel slightly better able to find a good job. We shall see.

There's nothing quite like eating tiny cakes while watching a girl and her friend bash in her mum's head with big rocks. Good times indeed.

Hey! Go for that Theater job!
Re: Hey! Go for that Theater job!
As always, I appreciate the support!
Re: Hey! Go for that Theater job!
But I really do come off a klutz when I hafta learn things that take timing and coordination (how I got the Sound Effects gig with the radio station is pure luck)...and I must say movie projectors are delightfully intuitive to work with. And if you already know the Projectionist, that's a double-plus.
Best hallucination I ever had was when I was working in that theater (lack of sleep, not drugs or insanity.)

We had watched it over at her folks' house and probably had sex afterwards on their couch or something. When they came home and asked what movie we'd watched, she says "Oh, HE got one about these teenage lesbians who kill their mother". That went over really well as you might imagine.
