We're gonna need to watch that again.

Go ahead man...do your thing.

For the first time, it really seems like we got more answers than questions. I think we'd all waited long enough for an explanation for the polar bears. I wonder how many their were. I presume that explains the sharks as well.

I think the whole #3 of 6 thing is fairly relevant.

And I'm pretty blown away by the revelations of the other survivor.
Rose's husband probably is alive; she was right all along.

And when did Vincent come back?
Wouldn't you think he'd follow Walt if Walt is back on the island.
BTW, the subtitles when Walt was doing the weird whisper said "Do not push the button".

As for Hurley and his curse: Using the numbers made him beholden to the island. That's why his life fell apart when he was elsewhere; and he was charmed once he arrived. He owes a debt to the island that will be repaid by him manning the computer. Presumably, the guy in the asylum will show up at a later time.

That said, I'm not really looking forward to the Desmond/Rousseau fanfic.
I also think John Locke and Turanga Leela make a fine couple.
Let's hope it works out.

"Do not push the button". Ohhh sh-!

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ithought for sure they'd end the show with two seconds left on the timer.

[identity profile] pyrafire.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. I was so certain. Dude, I think the best part of the episode tonight was in Scenes from the Next with Jin. That was my only WTF moment this season so far. I want at least one a week.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
That would have ruined the entire theme.

[identity profile] gifgal.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:18 am (UTC)(link)
i loved it, and i dont care if they dont give us 'all the answers'. just the way everything seems to flow and stay interesting, no matter how bizzare, just kicks ass :)

[identity profile] hortonhearsawho.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think my favorite part of the episode is that now they're stuck manning this thing, presumably forever. All symbolism and theme and and curses and revelations aside, that sucks. That is one hell of an irritating job.

I was wondering the same thing about Vincent. Glad I didn't miss something huge.

Also, in regards to the trailer for next week: I knew Jin could speak English. It was just stupid that he couldn't.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I can' treally agree with that stance. Eventually, I'm going to need to knwo what the fuck is going on; probably on all six islands.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't really get that from the trailer. I assumed it was him as the actor saying something, not as the character Jin.

I guess we shall see.

I only have one thing to say:

Electromagnetism on the island? Big cloud of black smoke? Those are iron filings being manipulated in some fashion.

My 2 cents

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Could be. But now that we've seen "the tape" we know that the possibilities are basically limitless.

Nanotechnology is still a serious possibility.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
yes but electromagnetism has been discussed in the story, and nanotechnology hasn't.

[identity profile] kjtoo.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Showing a clip of Daniel Dae Kim speaking as an actor &8212; not as Jin &8212; in the "trailer" for next week's episode would be completely unprecedented (as far as Lost is concerned).

As far as the button goes, which is the bigger leap of faith pressing the button because you believe that something bad will happen if you don't or not pressing the button because you believe that the whole thing is an elaborate ruse?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
YET...

*rubs hands together meanacingly*

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Can you send me a link with something substantial about the nano theory? The little bits and pieces I have read don't convince me in the slightest. I had links before but cannot find them.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I fall on the side that NOT pushing the button is a bigger risk. Desmond has been pushing the button along; so we can assume nothing bad happens from the pushing (until we factor in what Walt says). I don't think I could risk not pushing it.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you read Prey? If you have, much of what happens in the book could explain things on the island. There are sightings of people who shouldn't be there, animals acting in weird ways, and of course the black clouds are thousands of nanoparticles that can assemble themselves into pretty much anything.

All I really needed was for someone to confirm my suspicion of this by mentioning the novel, and it all fell into place for me.

[identity profile] kjtoo.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That's my point. Not pushing the button is a much bigger leap of faith than dutifully pushing it every 108 minutes.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Somehow I think this issue will be revisited later in the season. ;-}

[identity profile] gifgal.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
do you check out any lost theory sites or anything? found this link today: http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

(yes, its from abs, but its so cool they do stuff like this hehe)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I try to keep up with the various sites and theories, without being a total jerk-ass nerd-bag about it. I succeed about half the time.

Thanks for the link, I had not seen it yet.

[identity profile] gifgal.livejournal.com 2005-10-06 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
i usually only check em out on thursdays, there's some dedicated folk out there! hehe.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2005-10-07 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
At some point we have to see what happens if the button is not pressed.
