Don't be afraid, I didn't mean to scare you...so help me Jesus.

It's so wierd to see a pictue of Bob Denver as an old man. We all know he died so as not to feel the wrath of me hitting him with my hat. We shall meet again on the other side, Maynard G. Krebs!

Are you a fan of melodramatic gypsies? If so, you may want to watch The Wolf Man as H and I are currently doing. Turns out, werewolves and pentacles go together like almond butter and apple butter (which if you don't know, is splendidly).

I enjoyed hearing Jon Stewart's commentary on the going's on lately. Myself, I'm just sick of watching my country go to hell in a hand basket when there's not a single thing I can do to help. Well, I did box up some clothes for Red Cross as I'm told they need plus size clothes. It's bad enough what those poor people are going through without the added hassle of not finding anything in your size in the donation bins.

Other than that, a ton of my time has been spent writing and downloading music off
Limewire. This reaffirms my theory that people are idiots. Lots of people have no idea who they are listening to or what the names of the songs are they own. I notice too that every funny song is eventually credited to Weird Al Yankovic. Make no mistake. He is a prolific songster and I love his work (I downloaded like, 6 polka's) but he doesn't do funny songs about weed or beer. He is clean and sober, always has been and would be most offended, I think, to hear people saying otherwise.
That said, I downloaded the song Possum Kingdom by The Toadies. I had always thought this song was about Vampires. [livejournal.com profile] absinthofheart can get me on this. But it seems that there are many possible interpretations, the most beleivable actually being that it's about a murder that took place wherein a violated body was found behind a boathouse. Of course if it were a real story, there would most likely be an SVU episode based on it, no?

Otherwise, things are the same. I'm still looking for a new cat.
I got a rejection letter today from the last house I sent my novel to. Sending out another query tomorrow.
I've also learned that the best time to grocery shop is around 8 in the morning. After the drunks yet before the mommies and old people. Yeah!!

I sometimes download from Limewire as well, and, like you, I keep noticing songs falsely attributed to artists. For example, the M*A*S*H movie theme "Suicide is Painless" was listed as being done by Nick Drake rather than Johnny Mandel. Drake may or may not have committed suicide--the jury is still out on that one--but, it doesn't necessarily mean he wrote a song about it. Oh, and the song "Kashmir" was attributed to Aerosmith. Please!

…or They Might Be Giants.

You are not the only one who enjoyed Jon Stewart last night. He is THE MAN! I don't see how the CIA hasn't put a hit out on him yet! He really tells it like it is. My fav part last night was when he was highlighting the President's week while Louisiana was getting blown off the map. Hope that sucker enjoyed his vacation while thousands of people were dying!!!!!

PS: Possum Kingdom is an awesome song. I actually went to TX to see the area just because of that song! "Behind the boathouse, I'll show you my dark secret..."

Kashmir by Aerosmith?!? that's downright blasphemous!

Ha! Yeah, them too.

I'm sure he did.

Did you happen to catch last weeks The Onion? One of the top stories was about Cindy Sheehan and how her "stupid dying son" ruined the presidents vacation. Good stuff.

Dang, that's hardcore.

I hadn't known the title of the song, nor who performed it. So it was quite a find for me. Turned out, a good friend of mine had the same problem. It worked out splendidly for both of us.

And yeah, it is a great tune.
