Damn, I'm it again!

Seems I've been tagged to do that meme where you post five songs you listen to a lot right now. Or to quote the meme "five songs I've been digging on". I'm so freakin' hip.

I'm going to do said meme because I'm a good sport, but I'm not tagging anyone else. The proliferation of memes in the last month or so on LJ has been as pervasive as it's been unwelcome. Well, maybe unwelcome is too strong a word but memes are good rather than great. And too many memes is just boring.

1. Bonecracker by Shocore
2. Girl on Fire by Rob Zombie
3. Hateful Hate by 10,000 Maniacs
4. Disease by Matchbox Twenty
5. Tear in your hand by Tori Amos

While I'm here, luscious thanks to all of you who sent congrats and well wishes on the place. You all rock, and it's gratifying and touching that so many of you take an interest in my happiness. I have big plans for this new apartment. And I'm leaning toward setting myself up with a new acquarium so's I can invest in another snake. Don't worry, I'm getting a nice one this time. I'm thinking probably a red tail boa, but maybe something smaller.

'I'm getting a nice one this time.'

This time?

Ah yes, my last big snake was a yellow anaconda named Dante. He was beautiful and active, and turned very mean once he got 5-6 feet long. As such, I have been bitten by an anaconda more than a dozen times.

Defensive strikes, not attack bites. I was smart enough to avoid that at least.

Anaconda's are real?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-06-02 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha Good One!

Actually, there is a link to the species of anaconda I owned on my main journal page. If I do say so myself, the links on my page are fascinating, especially the GW shark links. They tell where all the prop sharks from all the Jaws movies are now...plus a lot of great factual info on sharks in general.

Wait, sharks are real? (Ha!)

Hi punkin, I've missed you.

Congrats on the place.

I agree about the Memes. That's why I didn't do the one about DVDs.

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2005-06-02 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
No. They aren't. They are nothing more than movie magic created to fascinate the public. Have you ever seen a shark with your own two eyes? I haven't, and until I do, they are nothing more than myths. Perpetrated by popular media, on the unsuspecting american public. Just like China and George W. Bush, who I think we should start calling Darth Dubya. But that was more [livejournal.com profile] wednes' idea.

I petted a baby shark.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-06-02 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You've never seen a shark in real life? I have, a few times.

While you're in Chicago, maybe you should take time to go to an aquarium.

Since I'm the one who tagged you again, I must apologize. I tried to find people who hadn't been tagged, but my friends' list is pretty small right now.

BTW--there is a pretty cool shark tank at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. If you're ever in this area, you should check it out.

I've been to the aquarium here. Holograms don't count.

It was a real one in the Aquarium of The Bay when I went to California.

Sure it was. What's important is that I believe that you believe.

No worries about the tagging. It's a very minor annoyance if that.

I'd love to check out a shark tank. When I'm wealthy I'll likely do a lot more traveling.

They had a whole petting area...baby sharks, little sea ray things, anemonies, starfish, etc.

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2005-06-03 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure they did. I'm sure it was fascinating.
