Things, Life, Whatnot:
I just noticed that I haven't posted in a few days. My LJ calander has still not flipped to February yet, so I'd better take some time to catch everyone up.
I have not had any pot in the house since Sunday. As such, I have not been high since Saturday night, when I got pretty high, I must say. I'm feeling okay so far, not too jumpy and I've been able to sleep, though I'm terrified to have even a sip of caffienne for fear of insomnia. I still have another week before I can see the doc to get meds. I'm guessing I will get Zyprexa but I don't know for sure seeing as how I know nothing about meds for PTSD.
Tonight I went back to that dual group. We did reiki meditation, so that was 2 meditations for me today, having already done one in the morning. Other than that it was kind of a waste. I mean, I think I helped another woman, and that made me feel a bit less losery. But I don't think that's really the point of group, or maybe it is. I guess I don't really know. I did figure out who was breathing beer on me though, because she did it again this week.
H and I went to see Hide and Seek this week, because I was in the mood for something under 3 hours. I thought it would be weakly scripted but have great performances well worth the money we would spend. And I was dead on. The plot itself had only one good twist, which has since been ruined by the TV spot. The subplots are very thin, as if a few scenes had been cut maybe; and almost every character is a red herring. It was creepy, atmospheric and did indeed have excellent performacnes by DeNiro, Dylan Baker, and that Dakota Fanning girl who is voicing Fern in the new Charlotte's Web movie. Surprisingly, I didn't recognize Amy Irving at all and didn't even know it was her until the end credits. And I wanted a lot more information about the couple next door. If you see a lot of movies and don't mind spending the money, by all means, see this film. More discriminating viewers may wish to wait for the rental though.
Here's a little something for everyone who's sad about Enterprise being canceled.
The rerun of LOST tonight was not exactly packed with information. Having read ahead on the website, I had already learned about Claire's kidnapping, Charlie's boobery, and Ethan's mysterious absense from the manifest. I did very much enjoy the exchange between Sawyer and Hurley, and the implication that Claire's baby is some kind of Shickelgruber or something. Speaking of LOST, if you're feeling worried that you haven't been buying me enough presents lately, you should consider sending me This. Me likee very much! (Actually, I used to have this excellent nalgene bottle with a sticker of a Flaming Moe on it, and a sticker from
derekfz. Anyway, it got some kind of residue on the inside and because it has a small mouth, I couldn't get it out. So I need a new drink bottle so I can carry Brita water everywhere with me.) Later,
pak_man78 made a funny joke during LOST as I was introducing him to Sayid. He asked if his first name was "West". Say it out loud, trust me, it's funny. "West Sayiiiid"
Smallville, OTOH, made up for last weeks crappiness with a huge leap forward in plot. Chloe is more awesome than ever, and even Lois irritated me less than usual. I'm not all that intrigued by this plot developing between Lex and Mama Teague. I wish Lex would go back to corporate craziness and witty exchanges with Lionel. Besides, methinks Lionel and Mama Teague would probably have many things to discuss...EVIL things...unless Lionel really is a changed man, in which case, he is not long for this Earth, or this show.
Tomorrow I have therapy, plus I'm following up for a job answering phones for Yellow Cab.
