Law & Order: Comprehensive Commentary by Wednes
When I was just about to graduate from college, I became aware of Law & Order. Having missed thw whole first season, I didn't realize that what would become a plethora of cast changes had already begun. I was totally aware, however, that Chris Noth was smokin' hot. And I found the show to be compellingly written...but I wasn't really into it. And I didn't get into it until I started also watching Homicide in 1993. As most of you no doubt know, Law and Order eventually became on of my favorite shows--even after the tragic demotion of Det Mike Logan.
When I heard they were making another whole show of Law & Order dealing mostly with sex crimes, I thought that was exploitive and uneccessary. But I watched. And I was outraged, and horrifed and I kept on watching. Then Ice-T came along to partner with Munch, and one of drama's most hilarious pairings occured. So when I heard there would be another show of Law & Order, I expected to love it as well. But no. I found that Vincent guy to be irritating and ridiculous. I didn't like seeing so much of the perps. Although Courtney Vance is awesome, that wasn't enough to make me watch.
In case you hadn't heard, Det Green is taking a few weeks off from Law & Order to be on Broadway. Happily, he is being replaced by Michael Imperioli on loan from the Sopranos. Anyone who finds that odd obviously hasn't noticed the many MANY casting overlaps that exist between David E Kelly, Dick Wolf and HBO shows. Watch for them sometime if you haven't already. Pretty much the whole cast of Sopranos has appeard on Law & Order at some point. Anyway, that is good news.
Then later, I heard Briscoe was getting his own show. I like Fontana, so I'm cool with that. And I was delighted to hear that they had also cast Fred Thompson and Bebe Neuwirth (sp?) to be on it as well. But after over 10 years of loyal watching and rewatching, the most amazing news came my way:
Vincent is leaving CI and being replaced by....wait for it...Det Mike Logan!!!
I know, it's too delicious!
Speaking of delicousness, we went shopping to buy stuff for holiday treat making. Because I am so poor, everyone on my very short list is getting an assortment of cookies, breads, cakes, and peanut brittle. And with the excpetion of H's family, I'll not be sending anything in the mail. I just can't afford it. But I hope you all know that I still love you lots. All of you, seriously.
Well, most of you anyway... *snerk*
And those of you who poo poo'd my assertion that men in thier 70's do not have "minor strokes" should wrap your brain around This. And now we've all got to be subjected to Ashlee Simpson. Which I guess means that there will likely be mass suicides in Time Square.
On that cheerful note, I bid you all good day!

I do find giving gifts to be the most fun, although I suppose getting them is nice too!

Who ever heard of a minor stroke? That's like having a mild heart attack. There's no such thing.

Mike Myers: "D'Onofrio-hater!"
But
He's smarter than you, and you're jealous. End of comment.
(Sinister laughter! Addendum to sinister laughter! By-now-gratuitous sinister laughter!)
