Various goings on:

Went to the shelter tonight, with the greatest of all nations: DOnations! hahahahaha! I heard that one from a "bum".
The ladies are having a drawing to see who gets one of two slick-ass pair of isotoner glove, while the men reveled in a bag of movies and books. For some reason, the night director thinks my name is "Wendy". A lot of people do that...and its' pretty fucking annoying. There was also a client whom I thought was having night terrors, but really he was coming down off methadone. *shudder* It's almost enough to make one not want to do drugs. My nightride driver, Buzz, was in high spirits once again.

I'm pretty excited for NaNoWriMo to start. It's been really hard to not start early. The timing on this is kinda bad, since I really need to get back to work, but want the free time now to work on my latest opus (FYI that has nothing to do with that penguin from Bloom County). I have this feeling that it's going to be good.

My partner at the shleter tonight shared some info with me about The Icarus Project and it sounds damn interesting. It's an online community for Bi-polar people like myself and thier tagline is "Navigating the Space between Brilliance and Madness" which is basically how I describe most of my life. It's some fascinating stuff.

I'm also checking out a book on the Feri Tradition of Wicca, which is heavily influenced by Gardner (obviously) and is pretty loosely organized, with a largely oral tradition. So far it is interesting stuff, but then, most of paganism is if you're paying attention. I like the lesson: Everything Worthwhile is Dangerous. Although truth be told, I'm a bit wary of all the "fae" talk because for me, it conjures up images of those "otherkin" nut jobs that are always going on about how they are actually related to fairies, and not just followers of Feri tradition.

Smallville was a fun ep tonight. It didn't appear that it would advance the larger plot lines much, but then all kind of crazy shit started going down. I know I say this a lot, but poor Chloe. I'd probably never forgive Clark if I were her. and Lana...well, she's a self centered bee-yotch anyway so who cares what she does. That coach guy should get fired and maybe that'll learn him to stop making out with high school girls in his office. I don't like the way that relationship (Lana and coach) is portrayed like it's perfectly fine, it is not. Although Lexy boy with his itchy trigger finger was...well I don't know what it was...but I loved seeing it.

1. It's $12 a page. Bibs are $25 because I hate them

2. You must provide research materials (I can do online research, but I'm not going to the library to get books)

3. Confidentiality is assurred, unless you don't pay me. Then I will rat your ass out like Sammy the Bull.

4. I do not provide references of satisfied customers (see #3) but I will provide writing samples if you want.

5. If you are not a moron, you will provide a writing sample for me. If you do not do this, I will not be held responsible for you being "found out".

6. You must provide 2 weeks for me to write the paper. I can do it sooner, but the rates go WAAAAY up.

7. It is reccomended that you do not Email me from a Gmail account, for security purposes.

8. I accept cash only, unless you are sending payment thru the mail. Then personal checks are okay however see #3

9. I do not write anything that will earn you a degree in and of itself (no thesis, senior project etc.)

10. We have a printer now, so you can pick up papers here at my place.

In movie news, John Carpenter is producing a remake of his film The Fog (working title Halloween ii). A never before released Ed Wood movie about a couple whose sex life is supercharged by some witches is now availible on DVD. I'll be wanting that sucker! The extra stuff on the Dawn of the Dead DVD is pretty awesome. There is a bunch of stuff on "Andy" who is my favorite character. There's also a cheaply made news montage that is pretty entertaining. Max Brooks name is thrown around a few times.

And finally, lamentably, I missed the eclipse.
I wonder if someone wouldn't mind arranging another one?

I posted a link to the one good photo of the eclipse that I got.

Last episode was a big improvement over the last few stink bombs in my opinion, but I grow tired of circumstances making Clark act like a dick to people. Of course, at the same time it was nice to see the switcharoo. I am really interested to see what the deal with "Ms. Swan" is. Is she evil? is she good? What was Dr. Swans role really? etc.

I saw it. No offense, but I think I prefer this one:

Eclipse of the Blood Moon Eclipse of the Blood Moon

Me too!

I do find the homeless folk in Detroit to be most witty. Not the crack heads so much, but the rest...

I'm clearly the loser in this situation.

Gronk: a Study in Cuteness

will now never be penned by me...unless of course I have no topic for next years NaNoWriMo.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweet!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...I don't know if there is to be more Swann this season or not. I sure hope there's something.

I bet last nights ep was incredibly fun to play though, for Welling and Glover.

I'm fond of Feri and don't like it at all when people try to mix it with Wicca. What book are you reading?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Evolutionary Witchcraft, by T. Thorn Coyle

[identity profile] darkeryet.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
OK. Btw, there's a feri community on LJ. It's not very good, IMHO, but you can get a hold of some "famous" feri initiates via it.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Really?

Thanks!

[identity profile] darkeryet.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called simply feri. Easy to find. :-)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-10-28 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, I found it. And it seems I already know a bunch of people there!

[identity profile] emperorsamir.livejournal.com 2004-10-29 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
i agree

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2004-10-29 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
This one was taken with a slightly better camera.

Ya think?
