All kinds of stuff that happened:

Today our office got re arranged so I can be online or writing at the same time H is playing video games. This will not only increase the odds of my NaNoWriMo success, but also drastically increase the amount of time we spend together overall. So yay for us! Speaking of H, he got a ton of OT on his last cheque, so he wants to try a new restaurant this week. We've never been to Macaroni Grille (though I've had their catered food @ Madstone) or Mediterrano so I imagine we'll be trying one of those. Any tips?

With Halloween approaching, I've been talking a lot about horror. in fact, I'll even be watching Cannibal Holocaust this week, thanks to [profile] psychswitch and his magical horror lending library.
But I do want to mention one of the other great joys of Halloween, as in the topic of this amazing candy quiz I did pretty well on it, but didn't know 3 of them.

In case I forgot to mention, Team America was goddamn hilarious. That's good, since I actually had to pay with money out of my own pocket to see it.
Blast and damn!

Going out later mainly to avoid being home when that long-ass Farscape thing is on. H is, of course, stoked about it.
We watched Vampire Hunter D today, which I had never seen before. It was quite good, but a little over the top in terms of overall gothiness. You can kind of see all the little Hot Topic kids losing their minds over it while you watch. But I must say, it was pretty cool. Later we're supposed to watch Akira. I'll let you's know how I like it.

This is also the week that I learn to crochet. [profile] nate100101 loaned me some of his crocheting tools, and I've joined an Lj comm which amazingly, is active and involves knitters and crocheters who meet up twice a month in Ypsi and Ann Arbor. Amazing! The book I have says "Learn to crochet in just one day" but I'm setting aside most of the week. I'm going to try to make H a scarf for his birthday, a nice one. And then movie on to bags and hats and cool stuff like that--if I can actually get the hang of it. The lovely [profile] fyreangel is also sending me some needles and such that should be arriving any day now. I'm super stoked to get it too!

I'm also a little worried that I will suck miserably at it. I have had some rather disastrous encounters with latch hook rugs in my youth. For whatever reason, certain crafty thing escape me. Although...I used to design my own cross stich patterns and do them, which was sweet. i also used to do regular embroidery too...but for whatever reason, I haven't in years.

Wow...this turned into a really long, rambely post. Sorry about that, kids.

You're quite right. And "hooks" makes them sound a bit less like drug paraphenilia. ha ha

Team America(fuck yeah) was so awesome. Cannibal Holocaust is a masterpiece too, you'll really dig it. And if you're looking for a cool place to eat, see if your town has a new up and coming eatery called Arby's? I think that's right?

I know that the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area is not unknown to the likes of Arby's.

rotfl! I can only imagine what would have happened if I had written "Needles" as one of the package contents!

We are not hungry enough to eat @ Arby's. There would have to be some kind of week long fast...

I've been psyching myself up to watch Cannibal Holocaust for a while now, as I hear it will distrub me greatly. Luckily, that's just the sort of mood I find myself in these days.

I enjoyed the new one better than the original. I just couldn't get into the one from '85. Speaking of Anime though, I just finished Hellsing which you might enjoy if you haven't seen it. The subtitles (if you are into that sort of thing and not the cheesy American Dub) get Alucard's name wrong and call him Arucard which isn't quite as clever as its supposed to be. Akira I have NEVER liked, but its supposed to be one of the best Anime ever. For me the best Anime ever is probably Ghost in the Shell, but it of course has nothing in the way of Horror.

I just saw ghost in the Shell recently, and liked it a lot. My main comment was that the Wachowski bros owe them a great debt.
