Flying Cats and Brown Bears

I have some bread rising in the oven right now so we have plenty of yummy food to take on vacation. I was going to smoosh some garlic in it, but I accidentally left my roasted garlic on the counter all night, so I had to throw it out. Sad. Maybe I will bake it with some cheese on top!

Anyway, I have no job offers or interview requests...so I'm going on vacation. I'll be in a town called Newberry staying in a cabin and probably hanging out outside a lot. I'm bringing sun tan lotion so I don't get crispy; and anti-bug lotion because all zombie fans have a fear of beign eaten alive, whether by reanimated corpses, or pesky mosquitos.

And when I get back, I'm going back on my diet AND looking slavishly for a job until I find one. Plus I'll be doing one night a week at the shelter for awhile. Maybe over time it will suck less and less. I'll be back around on Monday, Sept 6th, which also happens to be my mom's birthday. Whoopidy Doo!

Have a good week, kids!

Newberry...haha...that's funny. You know about the old insane asylum there, right? It was shut down some number of years ago. Sounds like something straight out of movie.

Whoopidy Doo Indeed!

hope you have a wonderful vacation!...and enjoy that yummy bread...

by the way, the friendship bread I made turned out well...I froze all the rest of the starter in one cup increments...I think I have something like nine or ten Ziploc bags in the freezer...I wonder how long it will take to get through all of them :)...it turns out that mom had picked up some pudding mix of her own (pistachio and vanilla), so I told her to feel free to bake some break any time she wants to...

That's so awesome! I use that Amish starter all the time now, it's so cost effective to bake breads when I have guests...which is all the damn time it seems. I have to do another batch when i get home from vacation, I used my second to last cup on the bread i just made!

I like that you are a flying kitty
