Here is a list of things that don't make any sense.

Attempted murder carries a lesser sentence than murder. Why? does being a bad shot entitle you to get out of prison in time to try again.

Letting the next-of-kin speak at the sentencing hearing. Why? Does having a family make you more important? I've heard people exclaim things like... The person had 32 grandchildren, isn't that horrible?!?! Not any more horrible than someone being killed who has none. When you accuse...
