The New Superman:
If you ever read my userinfo, you know that I'm always on the lookout for new geniuses to revere. You may also know that I don't usually have to look any further than, say...
clockworkmonkey. But sometimes, someone so crazy with smart leaps out in front of me, and stays there for over 33 days. That someone is Utah Mormon, programmer, Quiz Bowl question writer, Brigham Young University Grad, and non-drinker Ken Jennings. Smart, neat, and a damn good sport.
Here's a taste of what they're saying about KJ:
Since when does Wednes rave about Mormons?
Cult of Ken Jennings
Don't want to do the math?
Stay Updated, if you dare!
And I'd like to say something to all you harshers who've made dumb comments ranging from "Jeopardy is rigged and shows favoritism" to "they are losing viewers" and "ken is so stuck up and annoying". You all suck! Please control your jelousy and be happy that a nice, normal guy won a whole bunch of money just by being smart. How often do nice, smart people have that kind of money? Not very often, honestly in life you usually have to be some kind of bastard to get a million dollars unless somebody gives it to you.
Ken Jennings, I don't wear hats, but if I did my hat would go off to you!

He is absolutely amazing...and, although he is fun to watch, I am waiting to see who beats him. OH yes...for that will be the day we will never forget (well, those of us who watch Jeopardy anyways..."Where were you when Ken Jennings lost?" "I was sitting in a bar in Omaha on a sales trip. The bartender and I cried.")

what amazes me is that he's only 30 years old...wow...
I wonder how much in advance they tape these things...I know there was some reference to it being the month of March when it was really June...it must be kind of weird to go through the publicity now when his run on the show may already be done with...
