Serving up the goodness

Well, day two of the massive eating habits change is progressing just fine. Actually, on this WW thing i can eat lots of good stuff. In fact, i can save up points and have a big mac and small fries once a week if i want to. i suspect though, that after eating well for awhile, i'll lose a lot of the cravings for that kind of crap. After all, my goal is to be less slef-destructive overall...

Which Evil Villain Bad Habit are you?

This weather has kept me from leaving the house though. i thought about becoming one of those "mall walkers" who do laps around the mall for excersize. But i dont' think I want to be quite that public about my attempts to slendify myself. The pointing and jeering would affect my morale I'm sure.

Go, wednes! I had to drop quite a bit of weight at one point, and I know it's not easy, but I'm sure you can do it.

As far as the exercise thing goes...have you thought about getting a video of some simple calisthenics. It can make you feel dorky, but it sure is convenient. Of course, if you can afford the space and the bucks, I think a treadmill is the way to go.

Actually, H said the same thing and I laughed at him. We have that stuff here...I totally laughed when H spent money on a dance pad.

Fuck them cravings

It's different for everyone, but in the various times I've managed to quit an unhealthy habit, some more legal than others, three weeks seemed to be the magic duration of time. If I could do without for that amount of time, most of the temptation would die out, and sometimes even make those things kinda gross to me. Once you get past the first hurdle (which isn't even so bad, in many cases), it'll be easy to keep going.

Mad props on doing the WW thing, I'm glad you lookin' out for yoself.

I'm trying to make a diet change too. I'm trying to cut down on caffine and not eat dairy. I'm cutting out and caffine slowly so I don't shock the shit out of my system. I ate totally vegan on Saturday of last week. This week, I'm doing it Friday and Saturday. I figure it'll be easier this way. I do agree that you may lose your cravings for the "bad" foods after awhile. I haven't eaten a hotdog or deli meat since I was 10 and even now it wouldn't occur to me to put it in my mouth. So yes, you'll probably lose your cravings. Back when I was Catholic (like, a LONG time ago, I was maybe 11) I gave up pop for lent. When I started drinking it again it took me a long tme to get used to it. So you're doing well, that's a good thing. I personally think it's a GOOD idea to get a work-out buddy. Definitely go whether or not they show up but it IS easier if you have someone doing it with you.

Sweatin' to the Oldies! That rocks! Seriously. I make fun of it sometimes (just b/c it's Simmons) but really, me and Anthony do it when he's too high on energy and needs to wear some off in a good way. He laughs his butt off at me but hey, it's fun and the more you exercise the more energy you have. I've noticed that I have more energy when I do that stuff. :)

Yes, I agree.

that is one of those thing they teach you in depression school. if you sit around doing nothing, you'll have no energy. But moving around kickstarts your metabolism.
