Pentelope
Pentelope is in the carrier now. She is very Very VERY upset, and it sounds like she is going to claw her way out, although I don't think she can. Hopefully she will relax and go to sleep soon. And I wish I had bought some rescue remedy...
Clarence is still laying low. I still have tons and tons of packing to do. And tomorrow I'm back to work. So for now, I'm off to bed.

And if my baby attacked me for picking her up I would punish her. I did not punish your cat for 2 reasons.
1) she is YOUR cat.
2) She doesn't have the capability for rational thought.

Let's hope your actions are not an example of the "rational thought" you spoke of earlier.

You should be careful to not anthropomorphize the animal. It is not human, and does not actually have a human personality. She is just a cat! Why do you insist on showing her the same respect you would show a human? Clearly She is undeserving of it, she won't even allow you to hold her.
I could have at the time muscled the cat into submission but I feared for the cat's safety.
You should be the last person to be casting disparaging remarks on my ability to be rational.

You seem to want me to agree with you, and I don't. I respect that we have differing opinions, please show me that same courtesy.
Clearly the animal is irrational.
Well, we *did* agree that she is not capable of rational thought. Why then, would you assume that she would understand why a stranger is grabbing her?

Hmmm...sounds like you've got something to say. Do tell!
It's funny

Everybody feels sorry for pentelope yet she was not harmed in any way. I was simply pointing that out, and pointing out that I was actually harmed in the encounter. I don't care, it hardly hurt, and will heal in days but the cat was harmed even less than that. So my comment of "Poor pentelope!!! Poor me!!" Was for that purpose only I realize that it looks like I was seeking sympathy when I wasn't.
But you insisted on assigning human circumstances to the animal. By pointing out that P. had no choice. So in reply I pointed out that she was a cat and not a human. What I mean in the long form is this... P. had no choice to be put in the cage but so what. I expect that domesticated animals will NOT act like wild animals. P. was acting like a wild animal and I feel it necessary to bring it to your attention that the reason she has no choice is because she is not a human.
In response you made an analogy to my child saying "...your daughter is 'just a baby'." You had to have known that this would insult me. A human child is more than "just a baby". I should not be required to explain to you why a child deserves far more consideration than a wild animal.
And once again you assigned human characteristics to an animal. And took the opportunity to insult me directly, which I had thus far avoided.
All I want to get across to you is that the animal is wild.
"Do tell!"
Actually I was just pissed that you insulted me. I suppose you're irrational respect for your wild domesticated cat is no more irrational than my presumption that I could ignore your warning.
I don't care what you write in reply I will not respond I am tired of this issue.
