Fight! Fight!
There was a fist fight about five feet from my desk today. This one punk teenager started talkin' smack to this other punk teenager, who wasn't tryin' to hear that...and then the first punk teenager threw a drink on the ground. So I, narc that I am, called security to break up the fight which had not actually began yet. But it would...
Punk Kid One connected with Punk Kid Two in the face a few times; and a bunch of people stood around watching and yelling but not actually doing anything to break up the fight. It was a pretty sad commentary. Kid Two did not appear to throw any punches at all. Then mall security arrived to make sure Kid Two was okay and to detain Kid One and his comrade. Police, ambulance and a fire truck was called. No arrests were made. According to Chick Cop on Scene, "if we arrested everyone who threw a punch, jails would be full". I can't help thinking that if the kid was smoking a joint, he'd have been cuffed and taken in pronto...
Anyway no one asked me what happened, even though I saw everything. So I thought I'd share with all of you.
Oh, and I left work early again, Yay!
